Currently researching EDGAR LESLIE WARMAN (1880-1918) son of William WARMAN, Solicitor of Stroud (?-1909)

Edgar attended Bradfield College, then owned a brewery for three years in Newport Pagnell, Bucks. He married Glencora HAMILTON in Oct 1914 at Southsea, Bournmouth.

Died 8th August 1918, serving with Royal Marines Artillery.

I have Census, Newspapers, War Record etc, but am hoping to find any WARMAN relatives who may know about his life.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Transcription of a doc at LMA required
« on: Thursday 30 August 18 11:30 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for someone who uses LMA archives to look at an original document for me.

An Insurance cert for Fenny Stratford, in Bucks, in the name of: "Richard Garner, Fenny Stratford, Buckinghamshire, victualler".  Reference CLC/B/192/F/001/MS11936/334/515393.

I don't think this is available digitally from Ancestry. Please correct me if that's wrong, and I will visit my local library and pull it from there.

A photo would be great, but just a full transcription would suffice.  Is anyone going soon for research?

Buckinghamshire / LIGHTFOOT in Walton, North Bucks
« on: Wednesday 15 April 15 15:34 BST (UK)  »
Currently researching the LIGHTFOOT family, who ran an inn in Walton called "The Angel", later "The Pine Tree".  John took the inn with his with Martha just before 1838, he was born in North Crawley. John died 1857, wife continued with the inn until their son William took over in 1875.  William married Elizabeth EASTMAN in 1869.

William and Elizabeth had two daughers, Margaret Elizabeth and Frances Ellen.  Margaret married a George GRAVES, but there were no children. Frances married Capt. Frank POULTON of the Church Army in Luton, and had one daughter, Daisy.

I know there is a great photo of the family outside the inn at Bucks archives. The inn closed 1909, and I can't find William or Elizabeth on the 1911 census.  Any other family information welcome.

Cambridgeshire / COX - The Windsor Arms, in Wendy cum Shingay
« on: Thursday 31 July 14 19:17 BST (UK)  »
An elderly relative is searching for a line drawing image she once saw of the "Windsor Arms" in Wendy, Cambridgeshire. Next to the church and run by the Cox family 1809 - 1851.  Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy?  I believe it closed down long before cameras were around!

Currently researching George CASTLEDEN of Woburn (1804 - 1884).  Second son of Rev. Michael Castleden of the Woburn Congregational Church.  Married, but no children. Issued a number of poetry books.  I am looking to broaden the page about him on a local history website.  I have exhausted internet hits and British Library & wondered if anyone has him on their family tree?

Kent / COX in Lydd / Romney Marsh 1841
« on: Friday 22 April 11 11:06 BST (UK)  »
My COX ancesters upped sticks from Seaton and Beer in Devon after marriage in 1834, and appeared in Lydd, Romney Marsh fro the 1841 Census.  Listed at "No.2 Battery, Lydd, Romney Marsh".

I can see a Battery Road still there, but I wondered if there was a Coast Guard / Navy connection to this Battery place, does anyone know what it was?

Albert COX had died by 1851, and his widow and children returned to Beer in Devon.
