Well, Covid restrictions are likely to be lifted on July 19 in England.

My biggest concern is that masks will not be legally mandatory anywhere.  Instead, it will be left to the discretion of the individual. I wonder how that will pan out?

I can well imagine that many people who have only recently started venturing out to shops will find this latest development quite difficult.

I can understand though, that this will be great news for parts of the hospitality and entertainment industry.

Great to hear the news that there were no recorded deaths attributable to Covid-19 today.

Hi all,

It was incredible to read that there were no Covid-19 related deaths recorded yesterday in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland. There is usually under-reporting on a Monday, but it's still incredibly encouraging.

Two-thirds of people in the UK have been vaccinated, and a third have had two doses.

Amazing stuff.

Well, I had an exciting time making a compost bin for our allotment today, from pallets.

The allotment we took over had a compost bin but was in prime position for good vegetables. So after much "umming and arring" (and lots of tea drinking, olympian procrastination and YouTube videos), we decided the best spot would be right at the north end of the plot where the ground isn't so good either.

Out with the old and in with the new!

A great day!

We had "haggis, tatties and neeps" tonight!  I must confess, we did add some peas, (my most humble apologies), but I reckon (possibly?) Rabbie Burns himself would too if he had a freezer and happened to find some. I do hope so, as they were rather good.

I'll sleep well tonight, dreaming of a Compost Bin and also a Haggis being piped in (Paisley, Glasgow). I do hope I don't have a wee Krankie jumping in as I drop off. :)

Hi folks,

There are mixed messages in the news as to whether or not people are to "Stay Local" now in the new rules that have come into force today in England.

I've gone to and then gone to "What you can and cannot do", but I can't for the life of me work out if we are now required to stay local or not.

Any ideas?
