I am looking for information about samuel Varney born in 1789 I belive he was married twice and had children his father was a Woodhouse Varney Mother was Elizabeth Nightingale they came from Belper in Derbyshire would be grateful for any news

I am looking for information on the firm of Jon Thomas Rowntree which is in the 1913 Directore from Hull as shoeing, ship and generalsmiths at lime street &15 westcoote Street I belive this was were my grandfather Walter Varney was employed as Blacksmith after he came back from the war it would be a miracle if there were any photo's as I don't have any family photo's at all

« on: Tuesday 21 October 08 13:30 BST (UK) »I am trying to trace my Grandmothers family they came from Ireland originally but not sure where but Sligo has been mentioned my great grandfather was Martin Goulding born about 1844 his wife was Catherine Goulding formerly McDonnell I know that he died march 1915 in Hull she died 1904 in Sculcoats Hull they had children born in Ireland one was my grandmother and then there where children born in Hull it is possible he had a brother Michael who was in Hull with his wife Winnie and children but on the other hand he could be nothing to do with Martin just there may be a chance someone else is looking for him any information would be very gratefully relieved thank you

I am still trying to get information on my great grandfather he was born in 1844 or there abouts in Ireland the information I have is that his wife was called Catherine the census shows that he was born in a place called either Hagen or Flagen it is hard to make it out plus there accent would have been hard for anyone from Hull in Yorkshire to make out I do know they where roman catholics and that they had children after they arrived the eldest was Mary Goulding who was born about 1883 by looking at the records I think they must have left ireland in the 4 years before then if anyone can help i would appreciate it as i am getting nowhere fast the only other thing is my brother seems to remember my grandmother mentioning Sligo but he can't say if they came from there or not
