« on: Sunday 03 July 11 11:35 BST (UK)  »
I believe my g g greatgrandmother Lydia Millen came from Hothfield in Kent. I have her marrying in London a James Barthram in 1838. According to the LDS records she had three sisters and her father was John Millen mother Ann ?. Apart from visiting Kent how can I find out more about this family?
All help appreciated.

Armagh / James Johnston
« on: Wednesday 17 September 08 20:05 BST (UK)  »
I  am looking for information on the Will of the above.
He died in 1916.
I am told that he was one of the last Coach builders in Armagh
He was married to a Sarah Drew and they had 12 children.
Would I be able to get a copy of their marriage certificate?

I believe the Johnson/Johnston family had a hardware shop at 1 Lower English St. Armagh and farm in Clones. Where could I find more about the family?

I am also looking for a book. Published I think In 2004. "A Clones Miscellany". A Mr George Knight was the organiser and editor. I rang Flemings in Monaghan Town but they did not know of it!

So many questions, but hopefully they will elicit a few answers!
Thanks in anticipation.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / St Helens Mystery
« on: Wednesday 17 September 08 13:59 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for the Maguire Family on the 1881 Census, but cannot find them!.
Their son Farrel Maguire was born at 43 Pythian St. on the 4th Oct 1880 and in 1891 they are at 60 Pythian St.
How can they have disapeared?
Also apart from Farrel I cannot find birth certificates for their other children, all born in St Helens according to the census returns.
They were a Catholic family, so would I be able to get records of their baptisms? if so where?

Please could someone help, I am going round in circles!!!!

Many Thanks....................Cybrgran

Lancashire / Help wanted in Blackpool
« on: Sunday 22 July 07 12:20 BST (UK)  »
I have just discovered that my g grandmother Maria Millen died on Christmas Day 1907 at
25 Wildman St. Blackpool. The death certificate records the death as
"Natural Causes"?? There was an inquest on the 27th Dec. 1907 (John Parker,
Coroner for Lancashire)
I wonder if SKS who has access to the fiche for the Blackpool local papers of that
time could look this up for me? and if possible let me have a copy of the
entry or entries?

Thanks in anticipation................................cybrgran

« on: Monday 02 January 06 20:52 GMT (UK)  »
Photograph taken at Photographers in Bradshawgate, Bolton about 1917.
Has anyone any idea of what the large badge is on the table? Or why they should be standing in front of the Union Jack?

Thanks in anticipation...................cybrgran

Issac Noquet was the proprieter of the above hostelry at 62 Church St. Bethnal Geen in 1861. (St Mathews Parish)
His grandson William Cecil was born at that address  in 1838.
I would be most grateful if SKS could possibly look up either or both census for me.

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Mary Elizabeth Smith
« on: Friday 13 May 05 18:53 BST (UK)  »
I have traced most of my Smith family in Brinsley up until 1901 and my g grandmother Eliza Ann Smith up until her death in 1933. However I have hit a massive brick wall with her sister, above.

Mary E Smith  was born on the 8th August 1858 in Brinsley/Greasley, Notts. together with her twin brother William.
Her parents were William Smith and Ann Leivers.
Mary E either died or was married between 1871 and 1881 and I wonder if anyone can suggest were I turn to next to find this out?

I am at my wit's end!!

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Church Photograph
« on: Thursday 10 February 05 14:23 GMT (UK)  »

I wonder if anyone could help me find a photo or sketch of St James Church, South Anston.
I am looking for a picture of the whole church to put on my Rootschat website. Anyone got an old photo lurking in a drawer  somewhere???
Ancestors of mine were married in the church in 1815.
I would need permission from the owner of the photograph to put it on my website.
