I'm hoping someone can help me find out a little more about my GGG grandparents and their family.
I've found the baptism entry for four of their children on the
Cambridgeshire Family History Society site but each entry has a * by it indicating that there is more than the normal information on the parish record so I was hoping that some kind person might be able to have a look at them.

What I know:
Isaac and Lucy Eat arrived in Australia in 1846 with the following children..
Eliz        16 years  (c.1830)
Charlotte 14 years (c. 1832)
Maria      12 years  (c. 1834)
Jacob      10 years (c. 1836)
William    10 years (c. 1836)
Reuben    4 years  (c. 1842)
Susan      3 years (c. 1843)
Rebecca   1 year (c. 1845)

I have them on the '41 census in Papworth St Agnes with the following ages (and spellings):
Isick Heate 30 (1811)
Lucey 25  (1816)
Lizer  11 (1830)
Charlotte 9 (1832)
Mariah 7 (1834)
Jackob 6 (1834)
William 4 (1836)
Ruben 1mth (1841)

On the Cambridgeshire Family History Society site, I've found the following baptisms (all with the spelling EAT with parents Isaac and Lucy and all in the parish of Papworth Agnes:
Eliza 1830 (for her record only their abode was listed as Hilton)
Maria 1834
Charlotte 1834
Jacob 1836

I've searched for some record of the births of Reuben, Susan and Rebecca using numerous different spellings of first and last names, but can't seem to find anything remotely like them (a birth certificate for one of these three would hopefully give me a bit more info on their parents.

I do have a marriage in Holywell cum Needingworth, Cambridgeshire in 1829 between an Isaac EATT and a Lucy CAVE that I got from the IGI, but I have no way of knowing if it is the right Isaac and Lucy.

Thanks in advance,
 Norma

Lancashire / getting a copy of a will
« on: Saturday 12 February 11 03:56 GMT (UK)  »
Could someone please help me. I'd like to know how I go about getting a copy of a will. I have found the probate notice for Manchester dated February 23rd (I assume 1924) stating that John Thomas Mobey died November 29th 1923. But I don't know what to do with info, I had found another probate notice for another ancestor, but it had a link for ordering a copy of the will there on the page (Cheshire archives)

London and Middlesex / Kensington Congregational Chapel (1859)
« on: Wednesday 09 February 11 05:41 GMT (UK)  »
I am in the process of trying to get information (and pics where possible) of the churches my ancestors were married and baptized/christened in.
My great grandparents were married in Kensington in 1859. I'm sure the certificate says Kensington Chapel, Allen Street and at the bottom it says Congregational Denomination.
I've been trying to find this place (hoping it still stands as it was then) and I have found the Kensington United Reformed Church on Allen Street and was wondering if this is the same church.

Australia / Newcastle Photos

OK,
I've been trying to figure out how I can put something back into RootsChat, but living in Australia and not having access to lots of records and such, I'm a bit limited. However, I do own a digital camera and so if anyone would like pics from places, cemeteries or churches, buildings in Newcastle, NSW, Australia let me know.
Probably up as far as Sandgate cemetery, and south to Belmont would be a good boundry. Sometimes, I do go further afield, just not as often.

If you would like something,  please ask. If you don't hear from me in a day or two after asking (I'm on here every day) please send me a message as I may have missed your request.

Lancashire / got really good eyesight.. or maybe a Farnworth lookup instead
« on: Wednesday 06 February 08 11:31 GMT (UK)  »
Arghhh, I have a dillema. I have just received a marriage certificate that I was hoping would provide the name of the groom's father only to find both fields for information about his father is blank! Nothing, not even deceased. But when I look at the certificate I'm sure I can see just the hint of some writing where his name should be. But then that may just be wishfull thinking.
So maybe someone here can help me. I've posted a scan of the piece of certificate to get some opinions  and I'll tell you what I know about Thomas Brindle and maybe someone who has access to the right records might be able to shed some light.
There is also the possibility that we may have to accept that the Brindle line stops with him.

Ok, Thomas Brindle married Sarah Holt on June 12th 1859 at the new Jerusalem Church (in Kearsley?). He was 24 years old (born c. 1835)
I have him on the 1851 census aged 15. He is an apprentice tailor born in Chorley. Unfortunately, he is with a tailor and his wife in Farnworth, so no family info there.

On the '61 census he is living in Farnworth with Sarah and their baby daughter. He is listed as a tailor and born in Chorley.

On the 71 census, again with Sarah and larger family and  as a tailor born Chorley.

Then on  24 Nov 1872 at St John the Evangelist, Farnworth with Kearsley, I have a burial for a 38 year old Thomas Brindle from Kearsley.

Now I have looked for him on the 41 census, but there are a few Thomas's around the right age and without knowing any other family members, I have no way of knowing which one is him.
I've looked on the Parish Clerk site and found a baptism for a Thomas Brindle in
March 1834 at St. Laurence, Chorley. The parents are William Brindle & Alice Bradley (William is a block cutter from Chorley) but again, I have no idea if this is him or not. I've looked for this couple on the census to see if they have Thomas with them or not in 51, but I can't seem to find them even on the 41 census.

Any suggestions for what to do now? Or do we just say the line stops there?

England / Coroners report? 1915
« on: Friday 01 February 08 00:46 GMT (UK)  »
mm hoping someone might be able to tell me just what this all means. I was playing around with different searches at a2a and come across this entry for a search of Toledano:

Records of the Coroner for Eastern Sussex
Catalogue Ref. COR

    Creator(s):
    Coroner for Eastern Sussex, 1194-
Coroner of the Western (Lewes) District of East Sussex, 1891-1997
Coroner of the Eastern (Rye) District of East Sussex, 1891-1997
Coroner of the Borough of Brighton, 1854-1974

    [Access Conditions]
Closed for 75 years from the last date of a document

Records of the coroner of the Borough of Brighton

       REPORTED DEATHS - ref. COR/3/3

          REPORTED DEATHS

             FILE - TOLEDANO alias DANIELS - ref.  COR/3/3/1915/5  - date: 15 Mar 1915

Now this is very interesting to me (no matter what it is) because I have ancestors called Toledano that took the name Daniels. Does this mean that a Toledano/Daniels died under unusual circumstances or what?
Also what can I do with this bit of info.. is it something that can be investigated further (if I was Sussex or England even lol)
hope someone can shed some light for me

Cornwall Completed Lookup Requests / Luxulyan marriage look up Completed Thank you
« on: Wednesday 30 January 08 05:40 GMT (UK)  »
krisesjoint,
Just saw your offer to do look ups in the Luxulyan parish and wondered if you could do one for me please.
John Mannell married Jane(or Jenifer) Marshall in 1826 in Luxulyan. Well that's the date I have noted, but I can't find where I got that info from. I checked and it's not on the IGI - it may be from my early genealogy days where I didn't add the all important c.  before dates (obviously was from my early days, because now I make notes about where all the info comes from)
I know who their parents were - James and Elizabeth Mannell and Richard and Margaret Marshall, I would just like to get a proper date for them.
Thanks

Durham Lookup Requests / Sedgefield PR lookup - Lockey, Samuel
« on: Sunday 27 January 08 15:03 GMT (UK)  »
I"m searching for the birth/baptism of Samuel Lockey around 1840 in Sedgfield, Durham.
So far we know the following:
Born c. 1840 in Sedgefield, Durham. We have him on every census from 1861 to 1891 in Little Lever, Lancashire and on each, this is listed as his place of birth.
On the 1861 census he was with the family of Hannah Crowshaw in Little Lever, Lancashire (he married Hannah the week following the census)
On his marriage certificate he stated his father as being a farmer called John (presumably from Durham)
We’ve searched the 41 and 51 census for him and the best we could come up with is a 12 year old Simon Lockey in 1851 in Darlington, Durham and his father 40 year old father John and we think the same Simon (this time aged 3) on the 41 census with father John, mother Margaret and 1 year old Francis living at Claypath P B & M B, St Nicholas, Durham.
We have searched the BDM’s and the closest we can find is a Simeon Lockey born in the 2nd quarter of 1838 and registered in Durham, probably the Simon we found on the census – (we did a search on FreeBMD for the birth of S Lockey between 1837 and 1839 and came up with a total of 9.. 1 Simeon, 1 Smith and 7 Sarah’s ) we have also searched through the full index for those years on thegenealogist.com and still not found him. We have searched using numerous spellings..including Lockie, Locky and even Lockly and we have not restricted our search to Durham or Lancashire, we’ve looked all over.

We are at a loss as to what to do now, so was wondering if someone had access to parish records in that area.

Or have we found him in this Simon. Anyone think Simon and Samuel are one and the same?
