« on: Thursday 27 July 17 12:41 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I wondered if anyone can help me?

A close friend of mine is trying to locate his father (*) b.1970 Huddersfield.

We don't know if he is still living? My friends mums name is (*)and they got married in Blackpool 1988. They split many years ago.

Is there any way to track this man down through electoral rolls etc?

If willing my friend would very much like to meet his father for the first time and offer the chance of a relationship should he want to.

Kind Regards,

Pedro

Can anyone help me find out how many of the above places have churches with burial grounds?

Midlothian / McArthur's on 1911 census look up please
« on: Thursday 27 February 14 13:47 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All,

I wonder if anyone can help me trace my great grandfather and his brother on the 1911 census?

We have them on previous census's but i'm so far unable to locate them both on a 1911 one.

They are:
Angus McArthur b.1885 Leith
Henry McArthur b.1886 Leith

Both were at the Leith Indistrial School for destitute people on the 1901 census as their parents were both deceased.

Any help locating them on a 1911 census would be greatly recieved.

Kindest Regards,

Pedro

Australia / help tracing a death record
« on: Tuesday 04 February 14 09:44 GMT (UK)  »
Hi i'm wondering if anyone could possibly help with finding a death record.

A while ago I was searching for my great grandfather's death and came accross this record:

Angus McArthur died 1925, Father Donald.

I think i found it on the Australian Death index or similarly named. The problem was this was all the info i could get from it.

Is there anyone who could pinpoint a location and possibly retrieve anymore info from the document?

Any help would be fantastic.

Thanks,

Pedro.

Came across this interesting site and thought it would be really good read and source for anyone looking for information on Swansea Docks and surrounding areas. It has loads of old pictures of people, the area, old ships, old crew members and it's construction and development, with a bundle of facts and information thrown in.

here's the link:

Australia / Australian Imperial Force War pension question?
« on: Wednesday 17 July 13 11:51 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can offer any help on this matter?

My great grandfather served in the Australian Imperial Force 1914 - 1919. He was originally from Scotland then was in Wales after being discharged from service 1919 through ill health. We do not know where or what happened to him after around 1921. We have searched nearly if not all records for death, emigration and re-marriage after this with no success.

I am now wondering if there is a possibility he can be traced through the collection of a war pension that i assume would have been issued to him?

Any help or information on this possibility will be greatfully received.

Kind regards,

Pedro.

Gloucestershire / can anyone help with parish records?
« on: Monday 28 June 10 11:36 BST (UK)  »
hi all,

I have traced my ancestor back to his marriage in 1679 in Twining/Twyning and would like to try and link up a few possibilities I have to go further back.

So i was wondering if anyone could direct me to any sites that would show the parish records of Twining, Ripple, Hanley Castle, Queenhill and Castlemorton?

Also could anyone shed any light on how likely my ancestor from Twining would have been christened in one of the other parishes mentioned?

I'd be very greatful for any help or suggestions,

thanks

Lanarkshire / help locating death certificate
« on: Sunday 25 April 10 10:59 BST (UK)  »
hi,

A while ago I tried to trace my great grandfather Angus McArthur, and with the help of some marvelous rootschatters did so, which was fantastic. I am now trying to locate a death certificate which may show possible rellies as informants.

He was born Angus McArthur 1885 in Leith.

I had been given 2 possibilities:

1976, aged 88 stornoway (age is slightly out)
and 1966, aged 82, Glasgow, this one I have tried obtaining but Glasgow archives say they have no such record.

So i was wondering if anyone could help and shed any further light on any possibilities i could persue?

thanks

pedro
