Hello there from New Zealand

It's been awhile but back into my Tree again.
I am looking for confirmation of details that were written down but no details from where it was sourced!
I am hoping some kind soul can help me confirm the following details
James O'BRIEN born 12 Jan 1835 ,baptism 25'Jan 1835 to James O'brien and Ellinor (nee McDonough /and variants) from Kilmoremoy Ireland area. There were two previous children, one being my descent link of Ann O'BRIEN born Jan 1828 and baptised 28 Jan 1828 ,same parents.

I can no longer subscribe financially to Rootsireland.

Thank you so much for your time and help and hoping to hear back at some point.

Other Countries / John STANSFIELD
« on: Saturday 17 March 18 23:35 GMT (UK)  »
John STANSFIELD  born about 1780/90- our family history and story goes that this person was on HELGOLAND in 1811-12 as an Adjudant des Gouverneurs and got together with a local ( Anna Hansen) and they had a daughter Anna Margaretha STANSFIELD born on Helgoland 1812 and then there is no further record of John. I cant locate and marriage for John and Anna in Helgoland records, no place of birth or death for John. One of the family enigmas. Does anyone else have a similar family story involving Helgoland out there in genealogy land. Would be so grateful to get some more information on this one. Thank you in anticipation.

LOST RELLIES - Needle in the genealogical haystack

Hoping some lovely someone in the area can offer some hope.

Anderson BARNFATHER married janet Smail? in 1850 Jedburgh. This is basically all the info I have been able to find despite searches - Ancestry, Family search etc etc
My Anderson Barnfather was born 1808 in Jarrow UK but seems to have crossed the border to marry in 1850 and and has since lost track of this gggg? uncle. Tried all the options I can think of without incurring tooooo much $$$$.

From that date I have been unable to locate any records or information.

Thanks in anticipation of some helpful genealogical soul out there.
Regards

Fife / John Laing - Needle in a haystack time
« on: Thursday 09 February 17 01:25 GMT (UK)  »
I am searching for John Laing (possibly born 1833 in Cupar Fife to James Laing) (& possibly Catherine Anderson). Came to NZ prior to 1857 when he married Christina Margarethe Brown in Wellington on 29 Dec 1857. Christina's parents Charles Brown (anglicised from Johann Christian Friedrich Braun) and Annie stansfield. This is about all the info I have at present....like I said "needle in a haystack" stuff - geneology is full of it LOL. I have no idea when he died either her in NZ or Australia - ah well here's hoping. Thanks in anticipation - you just never know

I am looking for any further information on William Davis of 65th Regiment 2nd Yorkshire Riding , who came out to NZ by 1847 aboard "Sir Robert Peel" with his wife Ann and young daughter, Eleanor. Can you enlighten me with any other information regarding William's service and subsequent discharge? He accidentally drowned in 1859 and his widow went on to remarry my gggrandfather Octavius Lawes Woodthorpe BOUSFIELD.

Thanks for anything you might be able to unearth.

Help fellow genealogists

Can anyone help me (Sue B form NZ) - I can't locate my Barnfather's on the 1881 census for Westoe / Durham. They would have been Albert B born 1855 , his wife Margaret (nee Lambert) born 1858 and possibly a daughter (Winnie born 1880). I have tried different spellings and everything that I can think of to no avail. Does anyone have time to help me out please. They were on the 1891 Census at frederick Street, Westoe with several other children. Just can't find them in 1881???????

any help very gratefully appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Jennie Kate (nee DAVENPORT) Hodder *COMPLETED*
« on: Monday 05 April 10 05:26 BST (UK)  »
Can someone help me find my Jennie Kate (Nee Davenport) Hodder? (B 1877 Twickenham Eng - died ? ?)
She arrived in NZ aboard "Surrey"in Feb 1904 as a married woman. Married to Arthur HODDER in Kent in 1899. and with a couple of children. When Arthur Hodder died in 1949 ...she disappeared ( as in, I can't find her in any records like BDM here in NZ. Nothing in the Deaths for Jennie Kate HODDER.
Did she go to Australia????? or somewhere else ????
Here's hoping there's an answer out there somewhere.

Thanks in anticipation.

HAPPY NEW YEAR fellow genealogical hunters

I was given some family info over the break and hope that someone out there has a key to enable me to go further ......
STANHOPE, Ann reportedly the daughter of the Aide de CAmp to the Governer on Heligoland (british isle from 1807- 1890) eloped with/married BROWN, Charles (BRAUN Karl?) and came to NZ aboard MArtha Ridgway in Jul 1840. She might hae been born abt 1815. Left from Eng with a daughter (BROWN, Christine Margaretta b 1837) and started the rest of that branch of our family over here in NZ.
Have no idea where to start looking for Ann's family in Eng! How can I find out about her family/father who was the Aide de Camp , or who was the governer of Heligoland at at that time.
Any ideas please...I have tried surfing the net, but no strong leads at the moment. I would love to be able to get that side of the family known.

Thanks
