US Lookup Requests / Wisconsin-Obit or death record lookup pls
« on: Friday 15 April 11 18:38 BST (UK)  »
Hi there....
wondering if anyone could lookup either an obituary or a death register/record for the following?

Ezra Knight died April 18, 1877 Strongs Prairie, Adams Co, Wisconsin

as well as his wife

Elizabeth [maiden name Van Velsor] Knight died Sept 24, 1870 Strongs Prairie, Adams Co, Wisconsin

Elizabeth apparently sometimes went by "Betsey"

I'm hoping that either the obit or death reg. will give me the parents names for each of these two individuals.

Thanks - Helena

US Completed Requests / 1893 Obit lookup in Bangor, Maine - COMPLETED - Thx
« on: Thursday 07 April 11 11:16 BST (UK)  »
After about 20 years of searching I think I found my husbands' 2nd great grandmother. I would like an obituary to firmly confirm that this is the lady.

The obituary is for Carrie Hope who died May 31, 1893 in Bangor, Maine.

Kennedy was her maiden name and Hope her married name. There were rumors that she possibly died in a fire and the death register that I found for Carrie Hope says she died of burns. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is the correct lady. She was only 31 years old at the time of her death.

Thanks for any help.

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Prison record?
« on: Monday 01 December 08 12:57 GMT (UK)  »
HI there,

I found, on the 1881 census, a record for Henry Hayman located in "H M Prison Canty". The census has limited information but does give his approx birth year 1850 as well as birth place Acrise, Kent, England. Henry was married and I did find his wife [Sarah Ann Keeler b.c. 1855] and child [Clara E E b.c. 1880]. His occupation showing in prison is Ag. Lab.

I'm looking to find out why Henry was in prison? Would there be a record of this available somewhere?

Henry is back living with is family on the 1891 census in Barham, Kent Co, England. Henry Hayman and Sarah Ann Keeler, I beleive, were married Dec 1873 in Elham, Folkestone, England.
