Europe / Early Baptism sources for Gelderland, Netherlands
« on: Saturday 12 January 19 22:01 GMT (UK)  »
Hi folks I am helping someone connected to me via YDNA who has the following ancestor in his family tree. The question is that is there a way to locate baptism records online for the children of Willem Claaszen van Doorn and Dirkje Aaldertzen van Deijl? They appear born between 1714- 1730s I am looking for a son named Willem.

Willem Claaszen van Doorn, son of [Claas Claaszen] van Doorn, was born about 1685 in Hemmen, Gelderland, Netherlands. He married 3 times. The first time he married Maria Gerritz before 1712. She died before October 1712 The second time he married Catharina van Putten on October 23, 1712 in Avezaath, Gelderland, Netherlands. She died on March 6, 1713 in Avezaath, Gelderland, Netherlands The third time he married Dirkje Aaldertzen van Deijl, daughter of Aeldert van Deijl and Neeltjen Dircks, on November 26, 1713 in Kapel-Avezaath, Gelderland, Netherlands. She was born before April 8, 1691 in Kapel-Avezaath, Gelderland, Netherlands and died in 1742 in Avezaath, Gelderland, Netherlands

Children of Willem Claaszen van Doorn and Catharina van Putten:

    Cathrijn van Doorn (1713)

Children of Willem Claaszen van Doorn and Dirkje Aaldertzen van Deijl:

    Aaldert van Doorn (1714)
    Claas van Doorn (1717)
    Aaldert van Doorn (1719)
    Neelken van Doorn (1723)
    Neeltje van Doorn (1726)
    Hendrik van Doorn (1729)
    Roelof van Doorn (1732)

On a separate note I am searching to see if this the actual father of Willem Claaszen van Doorn. If anyone can strengthen this link with genealogical evidence that will be great.

[Claas Claaszen] van Doorn, son of [Claas] van Doorn, was born about 1660 in Woerden, Utrecht, Netherlands.

Children of [Claas Claaszen] van Doorn:
        Willem Claaszen van Doorn (1685)
           Jacomijn Claessen van Doorn

Any help finding actual baptism dates or pointing me in the direction where I can search for them online would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help

Ireland / John Casement 1853
« on: Tuesday 09 June 15 08:44 BST (UK)  »
Hi all I am trying to help a lady out with her Casement line

We have a marriage entry but I have not been able to find a hard copy of the certificate

John CASEMENT . Seapatrick regd. Banbridge; son of John Casement ; married Mary Jones 15 Sep 1853

In this certificate it states John Casement's father was named John Casement. I assume the father would be born around 1815 ?

Can anyone help find the father named as John Casement anywhere in records? When was he born who did he marry? Is his death recorded?

Also familysearch shows several children born after 1853 to John Casement & Mary Jones. If someone has time could you please post any available info on this family, their ancestors and descendants here. Some sons went to America so I see there should be census records in both Ireland & USA available as well as BDM. Haven't the time to look myself but the lady I am helping would sure appreciate any info so hopefully some good folk on here can trace her Casement line back & down as far as possible, I will forward any info posted on here, thanks for the help

Hi does anyone on here have access to early birth & marriage records for Hardenburg in Holland? I have an exact Ydna match with someone who has Jan Loeftinck born c1575 as their eldest known ancestor. He had one known son (probably more children) Jan Jansen Loeftinck, born c1600. He got married around 1620 in Hardenburg and had 9 children, all with the surname 'Loftinck' (spelling change). One of the sons moved to Utrecht and at some point one of the sons moved to Renswoude and stopped using the surname altogether. Until 1700 when some of them moved away from Renswoude they took the surname van Renswoude. My interest is in trying to get some actual dates for any Loeftinck / Loftinck in Hardenburg or Utrecht pre 1700, ideally as early as possible depending what records there are. Perhaps someone can help me shed more light on Jan Loeftinck and his family plus possible ancestry. Thanks in advance.
PS none of the American Loftin families are from the Dutch line

Europe / DUTCH ~ HOLLAND ANCESTOR ABRAHAM MAARTENS 1570 -1660
« on: Tuesday 23 December 14 02:07 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for info on Abraham Maartens / Martenz / Martennsen internet shows him born around 1570 and dying in 1660. Only thing I found is he was father:
Father of Marrigje Maartens 1599 - 1675 who married Tysse Jans Bosch
Marrigje died at Bodegraven 32 kilometers from Utrecht.
Utrecht is important as its where Renswoude is near and my ancestor is Marten Seliszen b. c 1600 †after 1657. Marten is listed as living around Emmickhuizen 1649 – 1652. Emmickhuizen a small farm at Renswoude. Improtantly close to Bodegraven. There was also a Marten van Emmickhuijsen, labourer at Maarsberge 18 km East of Utrecht and I believe he is the same man as the one at Emmickhuizen some years earlier. DNA links me with Dutch people who have their ancestor as Abraham Maartens and his daughter. What is so in Dutch Genelogy is that Marten Seliszen will have a father named Selis / Celis or Marcelis. Is this man likely the son of Abraham or brother? I would like to make a link and have more info on Abraham Maartens. The surname can be varied as to probably the first name can. Any comments help appreciated in advance.
