Dorset / Madame Pratt
« on: Monday 20 April 20 22:00 BST (UK)  »
My husband worked for 44 years in the NHS and did part of his training at the Royal Eye Infirmary in Weymouth.  There was a plaque which stated that Queen Victoria was the Patron, and Madame Pratt was the Vice Patron.  He's always wondered who Madame Pratt was - can anyone help, please?
Thanks

Dear All
Could anyone do a look up for me for the Marriage Index (Palots?) for William and Sophia Lewin, both from Middlesex who married about 1824/6, please.

Rutland / John and Mary Ann Freeman

Dear All
Does anyone have any info they can give me on John and Mary Ann Freeman.  He was born in Brooke, Rutland, and she was born in Langham, Rutland, both ca. 1811.  I have found them on censuses until 1861 and then they disappear.  I can't find them on the National Burial Index.  He was a grazier/cattle dealer.  I should be grateful for anything.  Thank you.

Dear All
Is there any possibility you could tidy these little girls up?  And provide me with a date?  They are tintypes - I think possibly about the 1860s but an educated date might enable me to work out who they are.
Many thanks.

Oxfordshire / Bell Inn, Shennington
« on: Tuesday 01 March 11 19:08 GMT (UK)  »
Dear All
My Dad's cousin has sent me a copy of a letter written to her great aunt in the early 70s.  I think the writer's name might (or might not) be Susie.  But she's nearly 86 and living with her daughter and son-in-law (or possibly daughter-in-law and son) Hilda and Francis who are publicans at the Bell Inn, Shennington, nr Banbury in Oxfordshire.   She mentions no less than 14 people in the letter by name - but few surnames.  Is there any way I can find out who kep the Bell Inn in the late 60s and early 70s, please?
Many thanks

Dear All
This is one of my Franklin rellies from the Bedford/Biggleswade area.  Could anyone please identify what regiment he was serving in, please?  His cap badge seems to be a horse.
Many thanks

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / A very faded picture

Would anyone be able to help making this photo clearer please?  He has to be one of my Franklin relatives from Bedford/Biggleswade.  The photo was taken at The Studio, Shortmead Street, Biggleswade,  measuring 5.5 cm x 9 cm, and is mounted on a card.  Also is it possible to suggest a date for it?  Not to mention the sort of regiment?  I should be very grateful
Many thanks
