I have been trying to find the burial of my ancestor Martha Tickle for some years. Research from a cousin gave her a death date of 21 September 1830 and a place of death of Norfolk Street, Birmingham

Today I decided to recheck FindmyPast and I found a burial for a Hannah Tickell, buried 21 September 1830 aged 39, St Mary Whittal Street, the same place members of Martha's family were buried. The age is also consistent. I haven't been able to find any evidence of a Hannah Tickle that age in Birmingham at that time (all the Tickles of that time are relatives). The problem is the first name.

I'd be most grateful if someone, whilst visiting Birmingham Archives, could check the original register entry for me.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Randall Perry Marriage 1788 Soho
« on: Thursday 01 December 11 20:45 GMT (UK)  »
Hello :)

I found the details of this marriage in Pallot's Marriage Index for England.

Hy (Henry) Randall married Meliscent (Millicent) Ann Perry 11 May 1788, St Anne, Soho. I know the original documents are in Westminster Archives. I'm hoping some kind person will look it up for me (I'm on a limited income and the charges for making out British cheques are pretty high: I live in Australia). :)

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Two Marriages - early 19th century Bristol
« on: Thursday 01 December 11 19:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hello. :)

I have details of these two marriages from the Bristol marriage transcription CDs, but I'm hoping to get more detail from the records themselves (parish of origin, witnesses).

They are:

David Hill married Mary Ann Symons, 16 January 1808, St Augustine the Less, Bristol
James Hill married Rachel Godding, 11 June 1813, St George, Bristol

Thanks :)

I've discovered that a close relative of my distant ancestors was Anthony Freeman of Toddington (the one in Gloucestershire, I made the mistake of thinking it was the one in Bedfordshire), son of Margaret, who was closely related to my uncle Henry Hale and also one John Hale. He was mentioned in the will of my uncle Henry dating 1626. A Margaret Freeman was listed in John Hale's will as the daughter of his sister. I'm hoping that one of you has access to the parish registers of Toddington and I can tell me if he or she appears in there.

Thanks.

Hello

I was hoping that someone out there has access to the Faringdon parish register transcripts. I'd like to know if there are any Hale entries there in the 17th century.

Thanks :)

How to Use RootsChat (Please don't post requests here) / Editing Subject Line
« on: Thursday 20 October 11 16:41 BST (UK)  »
How do I edit the subject line of a topic I've made? I'd like to add 'complete' to one of my lookup request's subject line.

Edit: Never mind, I worked it out. The edit button is in a different spot to where I'm used to on other forums, and the method of editing titles is also different, so it didn't occur to me to try that. :-[

Berkshire Completed Look ups / Berkshire Overseers Papers - Hale Look Up Completed
« on: Thursday 20 October 11 01:27 BST (UK)  »
If someone has access to this, I would love to find out any information about the Hale family of Shellingford/Shillingford, Berkshire. Thomas Hale, my distant uncle, was an overseer there in 1600 and his son John also lived in the area. I'm hoping to find out if Thomas Hale likely was born there or if he probably moved there from somewhere else.

Thanks in advance. :)

Berkshire Lookup Requests / Will Look Up - Hale
« on: Thursday 20 October 11 00:51 BST (UK)  »
Hello :)

I am hoping that someone on here has a copy of the Berkshire will index, the one on microfiche. I am trying to find out if there are any wills for a Thomas Hale or a John Hale for Shellingford/Shillingford, Berkshire in the 17th century. Thanks in advance. :)
