John McLachlan died 23/10/1850 leaving no will
Who would have inhereted his estate his widow or his daughter.  the inventory of his creditors names his daughter as his next of kin although I believe his wife was still living in 1851 when the census was taken.

I am trying to find out if there are any grave stones or monumental inscriptions for the Hone family burials at St Lawrence Church. Little Stanmore.  George Hone c 1739 Wheelwright married Mary Dormer at St. Botolph Aldgate 27/12/1768 they had 12 children baptised at St.Lawrence between 1769 and 1790, at least seven children died before the death of Mary who I think was buried 11/8/1808 and George was buried 1/4/1824. George born 9/8/1787 son of George and Mary
was also buried at little Stanmore 24/4/1831.

US Lookup Requests / Providence Rhode Island Death
« on: Monday 28 December 09 21:35 GMT (UK)  »
Trying to find the death of Paul Lowe born 1781 Birmingham Warwickshire England. Paul had a son Thomas Henry Lowe who lived in Providence Rhode Island. There is a Paul Lowe Brass Founder who appears on a Philadelphia passenger list for 'The City of Glasgow' leaving Liverpool 18/6/1852 . destination Rhode Island,  I think the age is recorded incorrectly he was 68 not 58 as stated.
There is no registration for the death of Paul Lowe in the U.K. so I am assuming he died in the USA, can anyone help me find his death or burial in the USA or tell me how I can trace his burial.

Scotland / John Dewar Carlisle 1746
« on: Tuesday 06 October 09 15:16 BST (UK)  »
I have a piece of paper which reads as follows

By Philip Carteret Webb Esq Solicitor
On behalf of his Majesty

These are to certify that the bearer John Dewar was
this day dismissed from attending the Assizes
whereby he is at liberty to pass about his lawfull business unmolested
Given at Carlisle 2? Sept 1746
(signed) Philip Carteret Webb

To All concerned
--------------

John Dewar was my 6th Greatgrandfather his daughter Katherine was married to Alexander Watson in 1761 at St Andrews Fifeshire. I think she was also baptized there.

The paper has been glued to a second piece of paper probably because it has been folded and unfolded may times which makes me think John must have carried it for an extended period of time.

Does anyone know the relevance of this paper could it have any relationship to the Battle of Culloden and the following trial or dismissals of the Scottish prisoners
