Nottinghamshire / Rev Thomas Poynton, St Mary, Bunny, Nottinghamshire
« on: Tuesday 07 February 17 14:17 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for any information on the Reverend Thomas Poynton, Vicar of Bunny in Notts., from 1714 to his death in 1765.  He is buried in Bunny.  His patron at Bunny was Sir Thomas Parkyns of Bunny Hall.  I believe Thomas may have been born in Leicestershire or Staffordshire but have no further details.

« on: Wednesday 20 April 11 17:48 BST (UK)  »
Hi  -   I'd be grateful if someone could find a marriage for Richard Lockley around 1765 in Penkridge. Brides name unknown unfortunately but their first child Ann Lockley was born 1768 in Penkridge, followed by five other children.

Many thanks - Joan

Derbyshire / Durrant Road, Chesterfield
« on: Sunday 03 April 11 12:36 BST (UK)  »
On the 1911 census I have found a relative recorded as a lodger at 29 Durrant Road, Chesterfield, which appears to be a boarding house.  There are 63 single men, of various occupations,  mostly labourers but not exclusively, recorded as resident, with a male manager and his wife.

Does anyone have any idea what sort of establishment this could have been ?

Thanks -  Joan

Staffordshire / Uttoxeter inns and pubs
« on: Thursday 20 July 06 15:13 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone know the names of any inns/pubs in Church Street, Uttoxeter around 1901?  Alice Pointon b.1882 was a general domestic servant in one but the enumerator didn't record the name.  The landlord was Thomas Sampson.  Grateful for any details, information and whether inn still exists.

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / 1851 census - Lower Crossings
« on: Sunday 17 October 04 08:19 BST (UK)  »
I would be very grateful if someone could find my great great grandfather Robert Sharpley on the 1851 census ( or later) for Lower Crossings area near Bugsworth.  I am trying to find his birthplace and know he married Maria Woodhouse in October 1850 at Chapel en le Frith and they gave their residences as Lower Crossings.  Any help appreciated. Name could be wrongly transcribed as Sharples.
