Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Ant & Theodora - 1951 & 1956
« on: Tuesday 03 August 21 12:05 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

Hope you're all looking after yourselves.

Would really like an amalgamation of the two separate passport photos of my late grandparents. Looking for a restoration that incorporates the two photos together side by side as one image (preferably resized to which will fit in a photo frame 6" by 8". No fuss if there is a difference between the two backgrounds between the photos - actual quite like the colour difference between them. Not too keen on colouring the photos either, something really great about the old school photos just the way they are).

Not into the blurry/smudging effects. The two separate photos are in relatively good shape.

Some of my favourite photos of them both, and as always appreciate any efforts to amalgamate the two  :) :)

Kind Regards,

Anthony

Hi everyone,

Would really like some restores of the two passport photos of my late grandparents. Looking for a restoration that incorporates the two photos together side by side as one image (preferably resized to which will fit in a photo frame 6" by 8", or a 5" by 7". No fuss if there is a difference between the two backgrounds between the photos).

Not keen on the blurry/smudging effects, and original colour is good as is. There's some discolourations about, minor blemishes, and the imprint marking of the passport stamp on both of their photos.

Some of my favourite photos of them both, and as always appreciate any efforts to fix them up  :) :)

Kind Regards,

Europe / Gabriel Måhrbeck - Klinte, Gotland, Sweden
« on: Saturday 31 October 20 12:40 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

I've located a Swedish Estate Inventory Register for Gabriel Måhrbeck. ArkivDigital record: Gotlands-södra-häradsrätt-(-1899)-F2A-2-1744-1759-Image-7770-page-773

I'm having difficulty reading and translating the record. But from what I can understand his wife is listed as Maria Elisabeth Larsdotter. I am trying to determine Gabriel's family members as listed in this record. I believe the full inventory record also makes reference to a brother named Paul Måhrbeck.

Would greatly appreciate any assistance in understanding the relationships from someone who can read Swedish.

Thanks,

Anthony  :)

Hi Everyone,

Hope you're all staying safe during this pandemic!

Was just recently sent two identity card photos of my late grandparents Leontis and Varvara from 1956 (they weren't scanned with a scanner at high res, but rather seem to be a photo of the images). Would love to get the photos restored (no need for colour, great with original colouring), as there are some tears, fading and blemishes about, plus probably a need for some adjustment to image sharpness. The images are probably off on alignment too. Would ideally like to have a separate copy of each restored photo, and one version where there two images are amalgamated as one restored photo side by side - as they both date from the same month in 1956.

As always greatly appreciate any efforts to bring these images to life!

Stay safe and keep well,

Anthony  :)

Other Countries / Sweden - Christina Larsdotter b. 1732, Grötlingbo, Gotland, Sweden
« on: Saturday 22 February 20 22:28 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

Am having trouble locating the source of the below information. My ancestor named Stina who was born on the 18/11/1732 in Grötlingbo, Gotland, Sweden, moved to Klinte, Gotland, Sweden sometime before her marriage in Klinte in 1757 to Detlof Måhrbeck (1736-1790).

A source on anarkiv.se references a Christina Larsdotter as having married Detlof Måhrbeck. Christina's parents are noted as Lars Persson and Gertrud Persdotter. I can't seem to find them in household examination or probate/will records for Grötlingbo - unless I'm totally blind lol. Where has this source of information come from? Can anyone see them in household examination or probate/will records for Grötlingbo?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated  :)

Hi everyone,

Have just come by the original photo and have had a scan made - would be great to see some restores on how this one comes up. Couple blemishes, smudges and areas on edge which are being eaten away. Please no smudge or blurry effects. Original colour or BW preferrable.

Believe the photo is circa 1918 in Cyprus.

Appreciate the assistance.

Merry Christmas to all  :) :)

Hi everyone,

Would love to get a high quality restore of this photo of my late grandmother Norma Lorraine Mason. Colour/hue/vibrance fine as is. No need to change colour - particularly looking to have blemishes, spots and tears fixed up.

Please no blurry or smudge effects.

Appreciate any assistance  :) :)

Europe / Sweden - Christina Larsdotter - born 1732 Grötlingbo, Gotland
« on: Saturday 27 April 19 12:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

I have found a reference online, to a Christina Larsdotter being the wife of my ancestor Detlof Måhrbeck of the parish of Klinte, Gotland, Sweden.

This Christina Larsdotter was apparently the daughter of Lars Persson and Gertrud Persdotter of Grötlingbo, Gotland, Sweden. Gertrud and Lars were said to have married on 26th November 1728 in Grötlingbo, Gotland, Sweden. Gertrud and Lars also had three other children:
Jacob Larsson 1730-06-18 Grötlingbo, Nils Larsson 1735-08-10 Grötlingbo, and Bernt Larsson 1738-10-30 Grötlingbo.

Is there anyway to tie Christina Larsdotter to Detlof Måhrbeck? Would a will/inventory/estate record for Lars or Gertrud exist, which might link Christina Larsdotter as being at Klinte or the wife of Detlof?

I do know that Detlof was married to Stina (no surname listed in household roll from Klinte parish), and that she was born in 1732 in the parish of Grötlingbo, Gotland, Sweden.

Appreciate any assistance  :) :)

Other Countries / Brazil - Family of Achilles Joannides - Genealogists in Sao Paulo
« on: Sunday 09 December 18 10:33 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

I am trying to trace down the descendants of the late Achilles Joanides or Joannides (1893-1981). Achilles was born in Peyia, Cyprus in 1893, and left Cyprus bound for Brazil, arriving at Santos, Sao Paulo in October 1914 or 1915. He married Anna Scherrer on the 5th October 1916 in Sao Paulo.

Anna Scherrer died before 1971, and Achilles Joannides (on his death record his name is spelt Achilles Joanides) died in the Clinica Santo Antonio in Sao Paulo on the 20th September 1981, aged 88 years. Achilles was buried in the Cemiterio de Campo Grande, Sao Paulo in September 1981.

Achilles and Anna had a daughter named Leonor who was born circa 1918 (she was 63 years of age at the time of her father's death).

Are there any researchers that specialise in genealogical research in Sao Paulo, or is there a way in which I could trace the family of Leonor in Sao Paulo?

Any assistance is much appreciated.Merry Christmas to all

Kind Regards  :),

Anthony
