« on: Wednesday 24 August 16 09:33 BST (UK)  »
I have found my G.G.Grandfather on various crew lists with various dates of birth ranging from 1843 to 1850 , various places of birth including Aberystwyth,Kiel and Brake and various names Brodigam,Brodigan and Broadigam the only thing that doesn't change is his first name John . He joined the first ship I have found him on at Grimsby in 1867 . Rumour has it in the family he was an illegal immigrant who jumped ship in Aberystwyth and married a local woman ,my G G Grandmother . Does anyone have any tips on how I can find out his real name and where he came from .

I am trying to find a marriage record for Bridget Dolan and John Brodigan, I believe they got married in 1838 as there first child Bridget was baptised in Drogheda in 1839, they had three other children, Cath B. 1840, Catherine B. 1842 and John B.1845. If anyone has any information on this family I would be very grateful if you could pass it on to me .
