Kent / Kent County Asylum
« on: Tuesday 21 November 23 23:15 GMT (UK)  »
Does anyone know if there are any records available for this Asylum and, if so, where I might access them please?
I have tried the Lunacy Patients Admission Registers on Ancestry and not found the person I am looking for.
I have a digital copy of his death registration, which shows he died in the Kent County Asylum in 1894.
Many thanks,
Diana

I would appreciate some help in how to print a family tree I have created on Legacy.   I want it to look like a tree, with all the branches and twigs.   I've managed to find how to print family groups that look like the screens but that isn't a tree.   Am I being stupid?   A tree should be able to look like a tree, surely!

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / 1865 marriage at St. Mark's Church, Nottingham
« on: Monday 06 December 21 21:21 GMT (UK)  »
I know that Samuel BRAMMAN married Mary BROOKER at St. Mark's Church on 5th June 1865.   The information comes from a transcript on Find my Past.

If anyone is able to look up the entry in the register and give me the rest of the information (fathers' names, ages, occupation, witnesses etc) I'd be extremely grateful.

The Common Room / Problem with find My Past

Just wondering if I'm the only one experiencing a problem this evening.   My subscription is well up to date and it knows it when I look at my account details but the "subscription" button is high-lighted pink and I can't access any search results.

Sussex Lookup Requests / Another MUZZLE marriage I can't find!
« on: Sunday 07 March 21 12:45 GMT (UK)  »
Also found in an on-line tree, but with nothing to back it up is William MUZZALL married to Martha SCOTT.   They were both born c 1744 and if the other information is correct they had a daughter called Mary born in Ditchling in 1769.

I have searched Ancestry, FindMyPast and familysearch as in my previous post with no luck.

The marriage of Edward WILLETT to Mary MUZZELL on 9th April 1792 at Ditchling is in an on-line tree but I've been unable to find it anywhere to check (Ancestry, FindMyPast, familysearch).   The SFHS website, which was going to be my next port of call seems to have disappeared today.

Warwickshire / Corporation of Birmingham Industrial School in Fillongley

Similar to my previous post!   I have found a boy who might be a family connection resident there in the 1891 census.   Might he have gone there when his father was widowed?   Does anyone know what records survive that might help identify him?

Warwickshire / District Cottage Homes for Pauper Children in Coleshill
« on: Monday 28 December 20 12:31 GMT (UK)  »
I have found a possible family connection resident there in 1891, age 10.   Does anyone know what records survive that would establich who her parents were?   If she is the right child my guess is that she became an inmate after her father was widowed.   Is this probable?

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Baptised on the Isle of Wight?
« on: Wednesday 29 January 20 09:44 GMT (UK)  »
The name I'm looking for is Cynthiney (or a variation) ORTON, born c. 1800.   Her parents were Susannah/Sukey and Edward ORTON.   The family came from Nuneaton and I can see five children baptised there before Cynthiney and four baptised afterwards.   The gap is from 9th December 1795  to 26th June 1803.

In the 1841 census Cynthiney's birth pace was Warwickshire but I'm guessing that information was given by her husband.   By 1851 she was a widow.   In that census and also 1861, 1871 and 1881 she said she was born on the Isle of Wight.

I've looked on Ancestry, Find My Past and the IGI with no success.   If anyone can do better I'd be really grateful!
