Bedfordshire Lookup Requests / Keysoe Marriage
« on: Wednesday 08 September 21 14:25 BST (UK)  »

I have found a marriage to a couple in Keysoe Beds in the records of Familysearch,
the girls name has been recorded as Fubbey in there records, I cannot find any more
continuation of the name so I am assuming its badly writ en in the PR in the first place.
John Mayes  and  Elizabeth Fubbey 23 Nov 1707 Keysoe, Beds..

So if any one has access to the Bedfordshire records could they see what has been
writ en as against whats been recorded by FS...

The Common Room / surmane quandary.
« on: Sunday 29 August 21 12:45 BST (UK)  »
I have been cleaning my ancestry surmane list and came across the family name
Trusler and Trussler that has been recorded, the clergy has written both in the
course of BMD's even for the same family, upto date they are both recorded in
the civil reg index, there seems to be just as many with one S as against SS, any
way to keep things tidy what would one suggest to use, or am I just being picky
unnecessarily, just take one spelling and run with that....
     Foot note..
may be only the first name, date, and location of event is most important...

Woodman and radigan Woodman ne Randall, but so far no birth/bp has been found, the pr records
Joseph as being from Bosham when the family were there I assume, but no birth record found.

The Common Room / very near invisable Parish records
« on: Wednesday 11 March 20 12:06 GMT (UK)  »

I suppose we all have encountered the problem with poorly written or faded parish records,
you find the right year in your searches only to have the ink just about vanished, so has any
one found an app or way to make the writing readable, I have paint and as standard
on my win7 but has any one found another (poss free or cheap) that they are more than
satisfied and fairly easy to use, I get the feeling that some clergy used watered down ink for
some reason or a worn out quill, so I am ever hopfull....

Surrey / Bishop transcripts of chiddingfold PR
« on: Friday 14 February 20 15:17 GMT (UK)  »

The parish records of Chiddingfold are badly damaged for some reason, so assuming the
Bt copies were written each year or so there might just be a better image to look at, and
they survived and are in better comdition, the Familysearch shows them as in existance,
I am looking for a William Bartlett bp about 1760 to a Richard and Mary Bartlett, all the
baptism records just show the parent as Richard, Richard and Mary were married 28/Oct/ 1755
in Chiddingfold, the William I am after was married 29/Sept/1788 in the same parish, any way
lets hope the BT version is readable as against the PR.

The Common Room / Lady day to lady day
« on: Thursday 06 February 20 12:16 GMT (UK)  »

I am searching for BMD dates and at mo I am looking in a PR/BT and the dates are from
lady day to lady day, in to days dates that would be 1919 to 2020, but back in were I am
looking 1722/3/4/ etc the clergy lumps 23 March to 23 March as one year, but that realy is
2 years as there is a Jan 1st in the middle, should one break it into 2 years or keep the 23
to 23 as one as births would appear to 2 in one year, I know that ok as children are born
close together, or may be I am being to finicky....!!

The Common Room / Suffolk parish record images
« on: Friday 22 February 19 13:21 GMT (UK)  »

I can get some listings of Suffolk records but no images from the parish registers,
I am with Ancestry.  Familysearch. findmypast, but I cannot get PR or BT images,
have Suffolk registers been or are being recorded, I realise its a mammoth task for
any group, just thought I would ask.
