Armed Forces / Which WW1 Training camp is this?
« on: Tuesday 29 November 22 23:02 GMT (UK)  »
We have just found a letter from my friends grandfather a Griff Roberts born 1895 Pyle, Bridgend to his older brother Tom, sent from a training camp when he signed up ( as per photo attached) just after Christmas.  Does anybody know where this camp was and what regiment it was. My friend did not know that he had served in WW1, possible did not go abroad as he was a coal miner. In the letter he was replying to Tom's letter that he had received after being home on leave and had a good Christmas dinner at the camp (not as good as mums). We have most of his info except for army records.
regards

Down / Charles Harding m. Martha McBride?
« on: Wednesday 22 September 10 23:48 BST (UK)  »
Hi All, I am researching my Grt-grandparents Charles Harding and Martha McBride, I think that that they married about 1881 in Belfast. I know that they had 2 Daughters Jane (d. 12.10.1958) (m Samuel Lyttle d.5.9.1943) and Emma (my Grandmother )(b. 13.5.1896). (m. 1917 Colin Mckeag Rice).  Can not find any trace of Charles on 1901 or1911 census.

Any help in finding them would be great.
