I believe that my GGGrandparents were married in this church 1837, my question is , is it the same Church that is there today & how can I access the Church records re. the marriage of George Carter & Jane Gilholm , I was able to visit this place about 5 years ago ,but was unable to go inside as the place was locked but a very interesting Churchyard,

In October this year my wife & I will be visiting Scotland from Australia & I intend to spend 3 days in the Roxbrough ,Kelso area. My interest is in my GGgrandfather George & Jane Carter who came to Australia in 1853 & were married in Ekford in 1837.I would like some advise on any family history resources that I could access  while there, e.g local history groups or church records. The 1851 census has them living at a farm called  "Craigrig" which I have since found to be now part of the property "Ladyrig" near Heiton , I am also hopefull of visiting this place while in the area. So any suggestions on where to find records from that period would be a big help!

Any ideas about finding the location of the death of John Mcgregor Carter, QLD BDMs have 1929 as date of death but no location & being interstate it is difficult ot find out anything else without visiting Brisbane
