London and Middlesex / 2nd marriage Wolfenden Kenny (1780 Queens Ireland - 1857 London)

Wolfenden's first wife, Mary Kettle, died 8 Feb 1812 listed as Hackney Rd. They had been married Marylebone in 1805 and had 4 children - 1807 Charlotte Mary - St Marylebone; 1808 Anna Beaumont in Ireland; 1810 Wolfenden - St Leonard, Shoreditch; and Edward 1812 - 4 days before his mother's death. He was baptised in 1812 March St Mary Lewisham.

In 1816 a child named Mary born Clerkenwell St James - mother listed as Sarah.
A further 6 children born 1818 William,1820 Robert,1825 Frances, 1827 Frederick, 1829 Charles and 1832 Griffith Richard Kenny, all Baptisms list mother as Mary. - all Clerkenwell St James.

I believe the reference to Sarah is a transcription type error. Either way, I can find no reference to a 2nd/3rd marriage for Wolfenden Kenny - have tried posting on the Ireland board in case he returned to Ireland to marry - but so far no luck there either.

Any help greatly appreciatied. By the way where is/was Clerkenwell St James in London?!

Laois (Queens) / Possible 2nd marriage for Wolfenden Kenny in Mountmellick

These boards have changed since I last posted so hope this is in the right place.
The old chestnut, Wolfenden Kenny (B 18.11.1780 Mountmellick, Rosenallis, Queens) initially married Mary Kettle in 1805 in London. First child born Ireland, 2nd and future children born London. Mary died in 1812 London, assume following childbirth, as their 3rd child, Edward Kenny was born 4 days prior Mary's death.
The next child of Wolfenden was born in 1816 with mother named as Mary. There seems no UK trace of Wolfenden's 2nd marriage so is it possible he returned to Ireland to family and re-married there sometime between 1812-1816?

These boards have always been of such great help in the past, Im sure something may come to light.

Essex Lookup Requests / Thomas Cooper c 1799 Essex

Hi, I have a Thomas Cooper born c1799 Essex, marrying Sarah? in Essex but cant find when or wife's maiden name.

They had 7 children, (eldest Mary, b Essex 1823) one of whom, Susan (b 1826 Essex) marries David Brett in Gt Henny Essex in 1854.

Looking at the 1861 census for Thomas & Sarah, her dob given as 1801 Gt Henny. Also in 1861 Thomas' mother, Sarah Cooper born c 1780 Twinstead Essex, living with them.

Can anyone throw any light on the Sarah that Thomas married or in fact Thomas' father?

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Shakespeare Mearns/Lincoln Prison

Hi, I have a Shakespeare Mearns (born c 1826 Stratford on Avon!) in the '41 census as a prisoner - aged 15 - down as tailor - St Swithin, Lincoln.
By 1846 he's marrying (Maria Cropper) and re-marries (as a widower) in 1851 (Harriet Moyses) - although he appears with his mother in the 51 census.

I doubt there are records as to why he may have been in prison?

And as yet, cant find any trace of his death.

Any help much appreciated.

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Shakespeare Mearns

I have him - born about 1822 Stratford-upon-Avon

. Can't find any early record for his birth, but he married Harriet Moyses in Lincoln 1851. I have found a 1851 census - Lincoln - for his mother Charlotte - b C. 1788 Lincoln - fish dealer. But no father. Other siblings were William c 1816 Lincoln and Valentine, believe 1824 - looks like Reading Berks.

Have found one son of Shakespeare & Harriet - Frederick Charles, born Lincoln
1851. On Frederick's marriage 1877 Lincoln, Shakespeare given as Clothier & Outfitter.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Froggatts of Buxton

Hi, Im looking to trace a marriage of George Froggatt (born C 1796 Derbyshire), I believe in Buxton, but certainly Derbyshire, to a Mary. Their first child I have was born 1826 (William).

Also, one of their sons, another George (c1830 Buxton) married a Margaret Healey (born c1837 Sligo, Ireland, dau. of Martin, who I have in the 61 census at Gas Works, Buxton) but cant find their marriage. Their first child born 1862 Buxton is another George (George Martin Froggatt). He marries a Sarah - I believe to be Sarah Selby (found a marriage 1881 W Riding, Yorkshire), although Ive seen on Ancestry in another tree, the surname Leadbeater. Appreciate this last marriage is out of area, but any help on any of these marriages would be great.

Hi, Ive been given the marriage date of 30 Oct 1862 - Parish Church Liverpool between Charlotte Bibby (b 1838 Lpool) to Richard Williams.

Trying to trace Richard's parents (well, father at least!). Dont seem able to find via Ancestry Lpool marriages.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / William Henry Alexander Woodward

Hi, looking to trace W.H.A.Woodward's marriage - he was born Liverpool 1808 (father John Woodward??) and by 1841 with wife, Charlotte (born c 1808 Liverpool), and children. Believe he died pre 1871 census.

I have not been able to find his marriage to Charlotte nor definite info re his own parents. Therefore unable to trace back Charlotte's family.

Any help would be much appreciated.
