United States of America / Westwood in the USA
« on: Tuesday 10 October 06 00:04 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I wonder if anyone can help me to find a record of a birth of George A Westwood in c1891?

His parents were Willie A Westwood and Mary Ann Westwood nee Airth.  They were only in the US for a few years as we have them in Millom, Cumbria in 1885 and back in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire in 1893 as evidenced by the births of the other children.  I would love to know where they were in America and for how long.  Willie worked on blast furnaces in England and family stories have him working on new steel plants in America.

Any ideas, please??

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Nolan(d) 1861/1871 or any other!
« on: Tuesday 02 August 05 09:04 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I am trying to locate the early days and relations of Henry Noland who was born in 1862 at West Bromwich and married Mary Ann Aspley in 1885 also at West Brom.  His father was John Noland but I do not know where he was born or who Henry's mother was.  John was a founder at a glass works and Henry was a miner.

Any information on their whereabouts or relations prior to 1881 would be gratefully received.

Thanks,

Pat

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Westwood: 1871 census lookup please
« on: Wednesday 06 July 05 13:18 BST (UK)  »
 Hello,

Can anyone help me with a lookup please? I am looking for Emma Westwood and her son:
Wille Arthur Westwood, b 14.12.1859
The address given on Willey's b cert is Lawrence Lane, Rowley Regis. There is no father's name on the cert although on his m cert, dad is down as John a pit labourer.

They seem to exist on the 1861 census although at 10 years older than I would expect!

Any info would be welcome. Thanks for your help.

Hello,

I am looking for some information on my husband's family: in particular some ancestors for Matthew MacKinnon b c1893 and Agnes Burns Hopton also b c1893 whom he married.  Matthew was a miner/mining contractor who then went on to own a mill.  Any family info would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Westmorland / John Mascall d 1843

I wonder if anyone has any information on the cause of death of John Mascall.  He was only 31 when he died at Longtown although the last home I have for him is in Eamont Bridge.  He was an excise officer and I wonder if he was working when he died.

Staffordshire / Henry Nolan(d)=Mary Aspley
« on: Monday 15 November 04 08:31 GMT (UK)  »
I am having difficulty tracing Henry Noland (with or without the d) who married a Mary Ann Aspley in West Bromwich.  There seem to be 2 candidates both for him and Mary in the area at the time.  I believe that Henry was born in W Brom in 1863 and that the 2 married in approx 1886.  I suspect that Mary died between 1888 and 1901 and that there were 2 children, Amy and Sarah who was my Grandmother.  Is there anyone who can narrow down my search?
