Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / HMS Mull of Kintyre, Singapore.
« on: Friday 31 March 23 17:17 BST (UK)  »
Hello again restorers, This is my good friend Pamela's late husband Ronnie, aboard his ship HMS Mull of Kintyre in the late 1950's, I really did not have the heart to say the pic cannot be improved, if there is anything that can be done to improve it, we would be very, very grateful.

PS: Looks like the ships name is printed on the cap, HMS Mull of Kintyre.

Kind Regards,

Peter.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Paula's late Mum (Help Needed)
« on: Saturday 25 March 23 09:59 GMT (UK)  »
Good day to all, Can any one help my friend Paula? this is the only photo she has of her late Mum, she does not have the original so my efforts to get her to rescan the original with a high resolution to create more DPI etc. etc. is not happening.

Sadly this is all she has, even as a layman I can see problems for restorers with this BUT is there anyone willing to give it a go? I know sows ear and silk purse comes to mind BUT is there anyone wiling to give it a go, is it worth having a go? I'll just leave it here folks. ::)

Kind regards and thanks in advance?

Peter.  ;D

Hello to all,

I have brought you some tough stuff over the years, but this takes the biscuit, this picture is taken from a forum trying to save the conservatory as the council has earmarked it for demolition. It's 1907 built and a beautiful building with lots of memories with banana tree's and other exotic plant's only ever seen on Pathe news by local folk at that time, we have managed to get a temporary reprieve by the intervention of the Heritage Society. I know it's a tough ask, virtually no DPI to work with, BUT If possible can we clean and add a little colour.
As the conservatory was not opened until 1907, can anyone date this pic from the attire?

Many thanks for any efforts,

Kind Regards,

Peter.

Devon / Captain Francis HOLE
« on: Wednesday 17 April 13 12:19 BST (UK)  »
Good day to all,

I am searching for information on the Army or Navy career of one Captain Francis Hole, born 1798 Devon, former JP, Alderman and in 1844 Mayer of Tiverton, Devon. I have him in the 1841/51/61 census returns, but it is his Military service possible between 1818-1828 I am interested in, his Grandson Captain Francis Hole Bourne 1850-1880 was in the 43rd Light Infantry, Scotland.

Any help with this gratefully received, ;)

Regards,

Peter.
