Warwickshire / richard arnold burial site?
« on: Thursday 12 April 12 07:27 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm hoping to (hopefully) pinpoint where my ggg grandparents were buried before we arrive there in June this year. I know they were living in Lugtrout Lane, Solihull (thank you again Rambler :) ) & below is the details of the death registrations:

Sept.1845/Meriden/16/247.
Meriden was the Reg.Dist. for Hampton.

& there's this Burial for an Ann Arnold:
16/9/1837/Solihull,no age given.

I realise Birmingham is a very large area but would there be a more likely cemetery for the Solihull area & do they have online records over there?

cheers,
Carleen

New Zealand Completed Requests / arthur arnold - look up request please
« on: Sunday 18 September 11 04:58 BST (UK)  »
hi everyone,
i would like to know if anyone is able to find a death date for the following child:
Arthur Arnold - age 1 on the passenger list of the Nelson when his parents John Arnold & Harriet (Clarke) arrived in NZ in 1842.

The family appear to have had another child, Sarah Ann, in NZ before travelling on to NSW in 1845. John is shown as arriving in NSW with 'wife and daughter' but no mention of Arthur on that voyage - he would have been around 5yrs by then if still alive.

Can someone also please tell me if it is possible to do online searches of bdm for NZ records?
thanks in advance,
carleen

Cork / casey/davoren families - any information welcome!
« on: Thursday 19 May 11 03:42 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for information on any of the following:

James Davoren Casey - born in Ireland, Clare or Cork abt 1851. (Death Cert lists Cork but Casey & Davoren appear to be more common names in Clare & both appear on the Griffiths valuation in the same area of Rathboney)

parents: James Casey - b.abt 1820 & Bridget Davoren - b. abt 1819

James Davoren came to Australia (Sth Australia) to join his two brothers Jeremiah Darby & John - not sure when but maybe early 1870s; he married here in 1876 to Amelia or Emily Quinn.

Ideally, I'd love information on when the 3 boys travelled to Australia plus where in Ireland the family lived as well as anything else to be found on James & Bridget (parents).

Researching James Casey is a bit like looking for John Smith! I've posted this to the Clare board as well because of the notation on James D's death certificate.

thanks in advance,
cma

Family History Beginners Board / records of stillbirths or very early baby deaths?
« on: Saturday 12 February 11 23:51 GMT (UK)  »
My mother always said she was a twin but that her brother died either at birth or very soon after & that the same thing happened when her youngest sister (half-sister actually, 20 years mum's junior) was born. Does anyone know if there would have been records kept of this in the early to mid 1900s & how I would go about finding them if there are? I guess it's curiosity more than anything as I wouldn't expect any records to tell me anything I don't know already about the family.

mum: Mary Jean Tottie Casey, born SA 13/4/1915 to James Leonard Casey & Lillian May nee Speed.

aunt: Joan Vinette Mackey, born NSW 13/4/1935 to John George Mackey & Lillian May nee Speed

thanks,
cma
