Wales / Welchpool Boarding School 1861
« on: Thursday 07 July 05 15:49 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find out more info about Gelf House in Pool, Welchpool in the 1860's.  This appears to be a girls boarding school.  It may be a calvinistic methodist school.  Any information about this or the location of records would be brilliant.
Many thanks

Elizaberth Bound, widow of John Bound who lived in Plymouth workhouse who died on 21 Dec 1874.  Husband was a fisherman.

Over enthusiastic helper at records office (my mum) thought this was married name not maiden name so wrong person!

Marriage certificate for William Barnes who married Mary Puddi???? on Nov 15 1845.  Both from Chartridge.

Thought it was my  G Gfather x4 but he was a shoemaker from Chesham and not a labourer.  Wife's surname is also incorrect!

Family Bibles / Egerton Bible
« on: Sunday 28 November 04 21:12 GMT (UK)  »
We have a family bible with the names Arabella and Richard Egerton dated to the late 18th century. We know that the bible has passed down via the Giddings side of the family but have no proven link to the Egerton family. Any suggestions or information appreciated

Wiltshire Completed Lookup Requests / 1851 census Wiltshire
« on: Monday 22 November 04 11:55 GMT (UK)  »
William Giddings married in Wootton Rivers on 29/03/1851 but does not appear with his new wife on the census.  On his marriage cert his is living in Cricklade St Sampson as a labourer.  Would really appreciate it if someone could confirm that he made it back there in time for the census and any further details available.  Not sure where he was born but his father's name is Charles and may be from Bishops Cannings but not confirmed.
Big thank you!!
