I am seeking please a baptismal entry for a Barbara FAWKES born c. 1680 possibly near Felton, Northumberland. She married a Thomas HARPER in 1702 in Felton, Northumberland, hence the guess on my part about her place or region of birth. However I cannot find a suitable entry having looked at all of England as well. If anyone can enlighten me I am greatly appreciative. Thanks, cheers, Rob

Australia / School Student Records plse - Glenthompson, Vic - 1886-1893 (BELL Family)
« on: Saturday 16 December 23 09:33 GMT (UK)  »
I am seeking please School Student Records for schools in the Glenthompson district during the period 1886 to 1893?

I am researching to find out first where my grandfather, John BELL (born about 1878 in Ballarat) may have gone to school & whether his student records are still available? Although his parents married in October, 1881, it appears John was born 2 or 3 years earlier. His own army records points fairly closely to a birth date/month of about October, 1878. During the period 1878-81 his father was a miner and worked in several different areas which meant he was often away from home for long periods.

I know his parents Robert BELL & Isabella (nee PATTIE) came to Glenthompson, Victoria in 1886 where Robert worked as a Railway Ganger. The family remained there until about 1902, when they moved to Burrumbeet, near Ballarat.

Other children born at Glenthompson were:

William Josiah (1886, d. 1888)
Thomas (1890)
Grace (1893)
George (1895)
Muriel (1897)
Robson (1899)

Two other children had been born earlier, Robert Armstrong (b. Goldsborough in 1882) & Elizabeth (b. Goldsborough in 1884).

Any help with obtaining any records or proof of their schooling at Glenthompson is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

I am seeking please School Student Records for schools in the Wendouree district of Ballarat during the 1860s?

I am researching to find out first where my great-grandmother, Isabella PATTIE (b. 1857) & sister Elizabeth (b. 1855) may have gone to school & whether their student records are still available?

I know their parents James PATTIE & Grace (nee HORNE) came to Ballarat, Victoria in 1860 (James) and 1861 (Grace, Elizabeth, Isabella and elder brother James)..

They lived at 15 Burnbank Street, Wendouree throughout their childhood years in Victoria.

Any help with obtaining any student record information or even evidence of their schooling around the Wendouree area is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

Seeking please a likely baptism entry for my ancestor, Richard DOUGLAS.

Richard was married to an Elizabeth CUTHBERT on 15th June, 1768 at Cornhill-on-Tweed, Northumberland. Elizabeth was born in this town in 1746.

I have seen an entry of birth of a DOUGLASS on 17th September, 1747 at Ford. The child was a male, however I do not know his first name.

Seeking any other likely options please in identifying Richard's birth/baptism in Northumberland? I know he may have been born in Scotland (so close) but not sure how to check this possibility?

For your advice, thanks..
Cheers,
Rob

I am searching please for the burial details of Eliza PATTIE (nee FRY) who died at Ballarat, Victoria in 1934. Her husband James PATTIE predeceased her in 1917. Eliza was living at 21 Burnbank Street, Ballarat. I have checked the indices for the Ballarat Cemeteries but cannot see her name. So, I am curious to determine where she is interred. Can someone please assist me? Thanks CHeers, Rob

Surrey / 16 Kynaston Street, Waterloo Second Part, Surrey (London)
« on: Monday 16 October 23 09:43 BST (UK)  »
I am seeking please some information on the location of Kynaston Street, Waterloo Second Part (Lambeth, London Surrey).

One of my collateral ancestors, Sarah Jane POCKNELL died at No. 16 Kynaston Street as above. I have failed to locate this address though I know many streets have changed name since this era! I also believe there is now a Kynaston Road but am unsure whether this is one and the same street/road.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

I am seeking information please on whether my ggg-uncle William Spark BELL ever came to Australia? His brothers Thomas, Robert & Hugh BELL all came to Ballarat between 1856 & 1862. William Spark was baptised in Allendale, Northumberland on 21st November, 1840, son of a Thomas BELL (Lead-Ore Miner) and Nelly (known as Eleanor) SPARK. His mother died in giving birth to William. I know he survived the birth & appears in the 1851 Census in Allendale. I am presuming he eventually made it to Ballarat. There is evidence of a William S. Bell who was a shareholder in various mining companies around Ballarat but I cannot absolutely prove this because the middle name is unstated! Similarly, the shipping records are not conclusive and list several William Bells in the lists too. Even the Registry of BDM Victoria cannot give me a clear lead either! I am seeking help on this one please. Hopefully I can also attract descendants who are very welcome to contact me too. Thank, Rob
