Ireland / William Hall + Jane Blakely: From Ireland to Iowa
« on: Thursday 16 September 10 05:50 BST (UK)  »
I would love to find the Irish roots of William Hall and Jane Blakely.  Both were born abt 1819 in Ireland.  They married abt 1838 (perhaps in New York).  In the mid 1840s, the family moved to Clayton County, Iowa.

Jane had a sister who also lived in Clayton Co.: Margaret Blakely, wife of Patrick Uriell.

William and Jane's children were: Nancy Jane (married David Bowles), William Jr. (m/ Annette Thompson), Betsy Ann (died young), Margaret, John C. (m/ Bridget and then Anna Garvey Riley), David (m/ Martha Jane Killen), and Elizabeth (m/ Horace Corlett).

Tipperary / John Uriell + Mary Gleason of Tipperary

I'm intersted in learning more about the family of John Uriell and Mary Gleason.  Mary was born abt 1768 in Ireland.  She and her children arrived in New Orleans and ended up in Clayton County, Iowa, in abt 1838.

Children of John and Mary included: Margaret (married John Cunningham), Julia (m/ ??? Holden), Patrick (m/ Margaret Blakely), Bridget (m/ John Barrett), Mary (m/ Michael Stentz), Michael (m/ Catherine Sullivan), and John Jr. (m/ Bridget Carroll).

I'm especially interested in Patrick's line.  His children were James (m/ Sarah Schulte), John (m/ Mary Larkin), and Mary (m/ John Larkin).  The name was sometimes spelled Uriel.  Thanks.

Limerick / Michael Garvey + Anna Murray of Bulgaden and Kilfinane
« on: Thursday 16 September 10 05:29 BST (UK)  »
I'm interested in finding fellow descendants of Michael Garvey and Anna Murray, who had children John (1823), Hanora (1827), and Ellen (1829) in Bulgaden parish of Limerick.  There were probably other children as well, probably including a Michael Jr. and a David.  Michael's probable brothers include David Garvey (married Anastasia Duane) and Patrick Garvey (married Mary Moroney).  Michael and Anna were living in Bosnetstown, Kilfinane parish, Limerick, by the early 1850s.  Son John ended up in Rutland Township, Kane County, Illinois, by 1854.  Thanks.
