Australia / NAA Passenger arrivals index, 1898 - 1972 for 3 Jamieson arrived 1927
« on: Monday 11 October 21 10:24 BST (UK)  »
On the National Archives of Australia site, I'm searching for 3 members of Jamieson family arrived 10 Oct 1927 on  BARADINE.
I get this result, for which there is a Digital copy,
JAMIESON   J B   Mrs   10 Oct 1927   Melbourne   Baradine   Unknown      11553335
JAMIESON   M   Mrs   10 Oct 1927   Sydney   Baradine   Unknown      11553335
JAMIESON   M   Miss   10 Oct 1927   Sydney   Baradine   Unknown      11553335

I've looked on the digital copy several times and I cannot locate them.

I do have a copy of Mrs M(ary) Jamieson and 2 children emigration which left Port of London 1 Sep 1927  from Ancestry.

I've no idea who Mrs JAMIESON   J B is. mistranscription?

Census and Resource Discussion / 403 - Record access denied. 1871 Census
« on: Monday 19 July 21 05:01 BST (UK)  »
I was doing a search for mary l* Atkins England 1871 census (search terms). I get the above subject error message when I click on "Mary Le Atkins born 1858 Reddilch, Worcestershire to see the household index.
There is at least one other record where I get that same error. Albert L Atkins 1858 Great Yarmouth, Norfolk
With others on the 1st search page I can view the household index.

I contacted familysearch, the person who replied thinks I'm asking why I can't see the image. I've replied.

Any Ideas?

The Common Room / possible relative 1939 register at Wiltshire Victor T Jeffs
« on: Monday 22 March 21 04:22 GMT (UK)  »
I'm confused as Victor T Jeffs and wife Nellie Jeffs appear to have 2 different birth dates.

Victor T Jeffs has the code TGA against one of the "birth dates"
Nellie Jeffs has the code KDA against one of the "birth dates"

England / Completed - Ordered a birth pdf from Online GRO
« on: Wednesday 03 March 21 05:16 GMT (UK)  »
I've helped a newcomer to order a birth pdf from Online GRO.
He's placed the order and was advised that the date of supply would be 19 February.

He contacted me on the 28th Feb  to tell me he hasn't heard from the GRO and that he can't find his order on the Online GRO site.
Should his order be showing at "My Orders"? He has the reference no and Receipt , his credit card was charged.
Do they send a email to advise the pdf is available?

I've never ordered a pdf copy from the GRO, so am not familiar with the process.

Buckinghamshire Lookup Requests / John Cox married Sarah between 1871 and 1881
« on: Tuesday 01 December 20 04:50 GMT (UK)  »
I'm looking for a marriage between John Cox and Sarah between 1871 and 1881, likely either in Buckinghamshire or Bedfordshire.
Findmypast show a possible 7 marriages between 1871 and 1880 in Buckinghamshire (does not include the below mentioned 1881 at Winslow or the 2 John William Cox marriages)

His father is John Fenner Cox

John Cox has wife Sarah in the 1881 and 1891 census at Edlesborough, Buckinghamshire, England

1881 - Class: RG11; Piece: 1645; Folio: 23; Page: 5
"25: Hempstead Rd (Goldern Rule)
COX John Head Mar 69 Dagnall, Buckinghamshire Grocer & Publican
COX Sarah Wife Mar 51 Brighton, Sussex Grocer's Wife
COX Annie Granddaughter 15 Dagnall, Buckinghamshire Domestic Servant

1891 - Class: RG12; Piece: 1268; Folio 19; Page 5
"35: Hempstead Rd
COX John Head Mar 79 Dagnal, Buckinghamshire Grocer Deaf
COX Sarah Wife Mar 61 Brighton, Sussex."

John Cox had been married twice before, his 2nd wife Martha Draper died 1871.

Previous family members has him married to Sarah Ann Ward 1881 Winslow, Hertfordshire, England.
At least one Ancestry family tree indicates that may not be correct.
