Herefordshire Lookup Requests / Help needed - electoral roll Garway Hill
« on: Saturday 31 December 16 10:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all

Bit of a sensitive subject. Trying to find my husband's Grandad.

My husband's Mom doesn't know who her father is. The only thing she knows if that he was maybe called Ted (Edward).

Does anyone has access to electoral roll records from the late 40's to early 50's at all that would mind checking?

My mother in law was born in 1951. Her mother was Ada Barbara Jones, known as Barbara and lived on Garway Hill. Barbara may have still been living with her parents Ephraim and Mary Jones or may have been living with Ted at Dingle Cottage.
Not much to go on I'm afraid.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Roscommon / Docker(y)/Haden/Egan County Roscommon
« on: Saturday 09 August 14 10:58 BST (UK)  »
I have been researching my Docker(y) family in Birmingham and am once trying to find out more about their County Roscommon roots...Any hints or help would be much appreciated!  Name variations are making it hard..
John and Jane Dockery have all of their children christened at St Chad's RC Church Birmingham between 1825 - 1845.  Most of the time Jane's maiden name is listed as Egan and sometimes Haden, Ethan, Hayden..
I haven't as yet found a marriage for them in Birmingham which makes me wonder if they married in Ireland.  Census states that they were from County Roscommon and one census is hard to read but looks like Bally Brothen...could be a townland Bally Broghan or something??

John died in 1858 and Jane remarried in 1861 to Joseph Duffield.  The marriage certs states that she was a widow called Jane Rudge (she was living with a rudge on the 51 census).  It also states her father was Michael Haden who was a butcher.
I think that Michael Haden/Egan the butcher might be a route worth looking down.
Would there be any trade type directories for Roscommon or anywhere that would mention a butcher?

I have all the census etc for their life in Birmingham and would like to take it a step back.

Other clues I have are that godparents for a couple of Jane and John's children were Patrick Docker and Kitty Egan.  Not a lot to go on but every extra name helps in family research.

If anyone can offer up any hints or has any idea what the village/townland is or if there is anything to be found on Michael the Butcher I would appreciate any clues!

Thanks
Ann-Marie

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Pinfield Wells - feckenham lookup
« on: Saturday 27 July 13 10:27 BST (UK)  »
OK, I have had a bit of a moment for which I am kicking myself for...

I recently visited Worcester records office and did not check an important marriage.  I must of got distracted by something else.

Would anyone happen to have access to Feckenham parish records?  If so I would like to know who the witnesses were for a marriage between William Pinfield Wells and Charlotte Crisp on 14/02/1831.  I am trying to find out who William's father was and you never know where the witnesses might lead.

Fingers Crossed!

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Wells & Field marriage - Ipsley
« on: Saturday 27 July 13 09:54 BST (UK)  »
I have been researching the Pinfield Wells family for a long, long time and have made a little breakthrough but as usual leads to more questions.

Just wondering if anyone has access to Ipsley parish records to look up a marriage?  I have an illegitimate line to find out more about.

I have a marriage for Jane Wells and John Field on 03/1//1831.  I am really hoping there it mentions the fathers or even witnesses that might just lead me on to something else....fingers crossed that there is a Wells or Pinfield witness?

Can anyone help at all?

Thanks
Ann-Marie

Worcestershire / Pinfield-Wells
« on: Sunday 12 August 12 16:37 BST (UK)  »
Hi all.  I am tracing the Pinfield-Wells family from Redditch area 1810-modern day.
My gt gt grandmother was Nellie Pinfield Wells...basically the line goes:
Nellie - parents Albert & Sarah
Albert - parents Edwin & Mary
Edwin - parents William & Charlotte.

I am trying to put everything I have together to show my Nan and was wondering if anyone is linked or may have photos, documents etc of Pinfield-Wells.

I have a photo of Nellie and I have christenings & Marriages of Mount Carmel Church....thats all I have to offer in exchange I'm afraid.

I would love to colate as much info as possible but not just facts like census etc. family stories would be great!
If anyone can add anything it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Haven's of Ladywood
« on: Wednesday 01 August 12 14:27 BST (UK)  »
I am getting so frustrated!  Just wondering if anyone can help crack this for me?

I am researching the Haven family.  Here's what I know:
Joseph Haven born about 1833 in Birmingham.  I have him on the 1851,61,71,81,91 census.  His wife was Mary (Markham), although I have not been able to find a marriage for the couple the maiden name is from one of their children's birth cert.

Joseph was a cabman/coachman who died in an accident in 1900.  I can't seem to go any further back than him!!  Later census shows his aunt Sarah Kirk living with him.  I have her marriage cert, she was a Haven and her father was listed as Joseph Haven who was also a cabman.
On an earlier census Sarah and her husband were living next door to a Samuel Haven who's surname has been listed as Heavon on some census.

I have searched for christenings for Sarah and Joseph and have come up with nothing!  So I have Joseph and I know his grandfather was also Joseph but that's it.  I can't find Grandad Joseph on census.

Variations of surname have been as follows: Haven, Haden, Avin, Heavon amongst others.....can anyone think of anything?   ???
