Sometime ago I was asking for info on the above officer who served in Mesopatamia with the Royal Engineers, the gist of the story was that I had rescued a photo album of his (not complete) time in Mesopotamia in ww1.

Unable to find a direct descendant to hand over the album to I said I would offer it anyone who had an interest, some time later I was asked by a person if I still had it and said I had posted onto someone who had expressed an intetest, this turned out to be another "senior moment" as I have refound the album in amongst some of my papers, if that person can contact me again I am willing to post it if they still want it.

Durham / Shipwreck off South Shields 1861

I am trying to locate the grave (s) of Alexander Patience aged 19 yrs and Hugh Fraser who were both drowned in early February 1861 when the schooner Fowlis was destroyed on Herd Sands by the great storm.
I believe they may have been buried in St Stephens cemetary in South Shields, or possibly St Hildas cemetary, it is unlikely there would be  any grave stone.
I have most of the scans of the newspapers at the time.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have probably seen the answer to my query before but can't seem to find it. Are there  medal Cards for ww2 casualties?
My wife is trying to find details of her uncle 3075103 Rifleman Andrew Goodman of the Cameronians who is interred in Gauhati Cemetery, Assam India, she has a pic of the grave and his Date of Death 19.6. 1944
She has heard from family sources he had the Burma Star.
Any assistance would be great

Can Middlesbrough Police Records of convictions be accessed by the General Public for 1960s records of a deceased person and is it possible to access Middlesbrough probation service records for 1960s for same person now deceased?

Inverness / Scots Guardsmen

Whilst visiting Portree, Isle of Skye last week I read the Roll of Honour on the War Memorial in Somerled Square, There are two Scots Guardsmen from ww1 listed,  Private Alexander MacDonald from South Snizort and Private Alexander MacPherson from Braes, as an ex Scots Guardsman I know that a member of the Regiment is collating information of Fallen Heroes of the Regiment.

Can anyone tell me if these two Guardsmen are commemorated in their local churches?

Armed Forces / Scottish Military buckle

Having purchased this item recently I have tried to identify it from various reference books and internet sites, It is a scottish belt buckle with the order of the thistle and the motto of the order, Nemo Me Impune Lacessit, the centre has the mongram or cypher of King George iii or King George iv. and surrounded by a wreath of thistles, it is a grey/white metal and the buckle plate is a kind of light brass.
One reference from a note I found in a reference book gave a very tentaive I.D that it may have been the Royal Highland Volunteers, as a shako badge identical to  the one on the buckle was noted in 1967 as potentially  from a RHV shako or Tarleton cap. There is no regimental number which suggests it may be  Fencibes Regiment or Militia.

I have written and spoken to the Edinburgh Castle National War Museum and there is no positive id at the present time.
When  I bought it it was described as Scots Guards Piper's belt plate which it clearly isn't.
