Lancashire / Jolly / Monk , Heapey and Anglezarke ( COMPLETED THANKS)
« on: Friday 02 September 11 12:04 BST (UK)  »
Help Please

As far as I can discern , Jane Jolly of Heapey had 2 illegitimate children by Ralph Monk  of Anglezarke.
Richard (born  23/8/1783 and bapt. At  St. Lawrence Chorley on the 28/9/1783)
Mary (born ??/4/1789 and Bapt. At St. Barnabas, Heapey on 23/4/1789)
Baptism dates are from the LOPC site and birth dates are from the Order of affiliation and maintenance papers obtained from the LRO.

Ralph Married Alice Astley at Rivington on the 2/2/1789, just before Mary was born.
I have details of the tree from when Richard was born, but am having difficulty tracing Jane’s precedents and can find no details at all on Ralph before that date.
The Jolly family appear to have been around the Adlington/Heapey/Heath Charnock area for a long time and I am descended from Richard

Any pointers or help would be welcome

Help please.
My GF. Bombadier F Murray RGA 53336 won the MM sometime round April 1918. the confirmation appeared in the London Gazette on the 7/10/18. He was born and bred Whitchurch and his parents lived on Belton Road.

I think his award may have been published in the local papers after the Gazette entry but I can't seem to get into the Shropshire archives site to search any criteria.

Can anyone help please with either a search or pointers to what papers to look at and where the records are held. I could travel to Shropshire if I knew where to look.

I will be eternally gratefull and might be able to recipricate if anyone needs any help in the Lancashire area.

PS.
Thanks for reading this post, even if you can't help.

Hello Folks
Please forgive me but I'm fairly new to this forum . I've been looking at some family papers and this one gave me a chuckle, So I thought it may interest others. My Grandmother worked as an attendant at the 'Annex' circa 1913-1918 and my mother as a trainee and nurse from 1940-1947.
If I've posted in the wrong place, sorry, and I'm sure someone will put me right

Shropshire / Murray of Ellesmere
« on: Friday 12 March 10 09:29 GMT (UK)  »
Hello everybody, I'm new to this site so please treat me gently!!!!!!

Anne Murray, died 23/3/1904 and is buried in Swan lane cemetery, Ellesmere. I have very little information to go on and have been unable to find details of her husbands ( James) death and who if any is buried in the same grave as Ann.

I know a son, also named James, died in Whitchurch in 1920. Both James's were blacksmiths.

Also, has anyone got the contact email for the clerk to Ellesmere parishes burial committee. I made a trip to Swan lane last summer but was unable to find the grave.

Thanks in anticipation
