Cheshire / Waring and Bowyer Little Sutton, Childer Thornton
« on: Saturday 05 April 08 17:13 BST (UK)  »
I'm researching the Surnames Bowyer and Waring from Little Sutton and Childer Thornton.

James Bowyer married Martha Waring  in 1895 in Little Sutton.
Marth's parents lived in Childer Thornton where her Father William Waring was a blacksmith. He married  Elizabeth (  born N Wales) in 1869.

James family came from the Delamere area

James and Martha had a daughter Emily Bowyer born in 1899 in Little Sutton and she married William Thomas Sharp in 1926 . They lived in Hawthorn Road, Little Sutton for some time.
I would very much like to contact any one who has knowledge of these families.
Thanks

Cumberland / Donley or Donnelly
« on: Wednesday 18 April 07 18:31 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to trace any records of a family called Donley (or derivations of the name) who lived in Cumbria around the 1820's.
William Donley was born around 1795 in Ireland and as far as I know his wife was Anne, also born Ireland.

My 3x Graet Grandmother, their daughter was ellen Donley born around 1820 . She gave her place of birth as Wynn, Cumbria but I've never been able to trace the place to go to parish registers.
My Grandmother remembered relations in Whitehaven.
Ellen moved to Liverpool and married John Almond
Her sister Mary born late 1820's I thik married someone called Mossop in Cumbria and her place of birth was noted as Wynn, Cumbria.
I've been trying for years to slove the mystery of where they were born.
I think William and Anne moved to Carlisle if I've got the right people on later census returns.
Any help would be great.
Thank you

Wicklow / Charles Byrne
« on: Thursday 24 August 06 06:49 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help please.

I'm looking for the birth record of Charles Byrne on 4th October 1849 'ish', though one source says 4/10/1857 - I think the former is more likely.
He had siblings

Peter Byrne, born Feb 23 1852 (Canadian death certificate).
Andrew Byrne, born Aug 12 1857(Can. death certificate).
Possibly a brother John and a sister.

His father's name was Patrick and his mother Mary.

It's parish of birth that's missing.

If anyone has access to Wicklow births I'd be very gateful for any help.

Thanks alot

Somerset / Surname mystery - HURSE
« on: Wednesday 02 August 06 07:41 BST (UK)  »
I've ancestors who had the surname Hurse and varoius derivatives of the name.

Has anyone any knowlege of this surname as it's proving quite hard to track.

It has been suggested that it was once Harris and because of broad accents etc was eventually written down as Hurse.

They seem to have lived around Bedminster c early 1840's.

Any suggestions welcomed
