I have this lovely military photo that I've been trying to color up myself, but I have zero talent (not to mention patience). It took me 2 hours just to figure out how to color his sleeve and I couldn't get the red the right shade, he looks like a candy apple.

I'm pretty sure the jacket is deep red, the buttons and trim are gold and the sash is white. Other than that, your guess is as good as mine!

Thanks to a cousin, I have a picture of my 3x great-grandfather which is quite exciting.  I was wondering if there was anyone on the forum who  might be able to identify the uniform he is wearing?  I have no date for the picture, other than presumably the latter half of the 19th century.  His name is James Hall Stevenson, and he was from Sheffield.
