E Tomlinson, surgeon in ??????????? infirmary.

Not sure if the word would refer to his speciality, or a place name because my man died at Piccadilly Infirmary but it clearly doesn't say that.

Thanks.

Can anyone decipher the red underscored words please? I'm thinking the last two (same word) may be pursuant, though the last bit looks nothing like lol. It's in two halves. Thanks in advance.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / will of Henry Hobson
« on: Thursday 04 March 21 23:07 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Bookbox. You have recently helped me some deciphering. One was the will of Henry Hobson who died 7 April 1619. The will was contested but granted in the end. His wife, Elizabeth had married Ralph Bramhall. I have found a marriage bond for Ralph Bramhall and Elizabeth Hobson in 1616, 3 years before Henry died!  Does this bond give any clue. Can you help? Thanks.

Bookbox kindly unravelled a will for me, thankyou. On pages 3 and 4 there is a lot of writing and it's making my eyes go funny trying to make it out. Seems a lot of text for probate. I can make out Elizabeth Bramall was Hobson, or that's what I'm guessing. A short explanation of what's been said would be greatly appreciated and maybe if it mentions date of death? Thanks in advance.

Can anyone give me the gist of this please? Beneficiaries, relationships, if any!
Thank you.

Hi can anyone help removing the crease from this photo? My sister lives there now and would like to frame it. Also can anyone date it? Not much to go except the chap at the gate?

This is me and my late husband in the late 80s. Could anyone clean it up a bit for me? It's an old photo so not sure the quality is up to it? Thanks in advance.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Eliza, Elizabeth, Something else?
« on: Thursday 28 February 19 14:59 GMT (UK)  »
I'm trying to confirm a name for my 2nd great aunt who I think is Elizabeth Taylor. She was born c1858/9 in Manchester according to censuses but in both 1861 and 1871 her name is written as what looks like a shorthand version though there are other Elizabeth's on the page written in full (see green arrows) so I'm wondering if her name is actually Eliza, or something else. On 1861 census Ann has been added as a second name.

Problem is I can find no birth record for her which should be easier now with the GRO search (surname Taylor, mother's maiden name also Taylor). She had two brothers born in 1860 and 1870 respectively. I have certificates for both of them. I cannot find her in 1881 and it's likely that she is married. I've looked for likely marriages with no luck. They were catholic so that might be a bit of hindrance for online records.

Anyway, I digress. Can anyone help with the name?  Thanks.
