Ireland / New Ulster Townland Atlas Under Way

I'm watching this one (link below) with interest, for I've lost count of the times when I've encountered something that looks like a townland (eg. in the likes of the Tithe Applotment Books), but the name or anything that it could be isn't obvious in the OS based documentation of the 19th century. The more general 'place name' project from some years back based in Belfast's Queen’s University was a help, but still left lots of gaps in our knowledge of Ulster townlands.  With work on the atlas being based on the 17th century - and research covering further back again -  I'm hoping it and the supporting information will address at least some of the gaps, in terms of previous townland names, townlands absorbed into others, etc.

Technical Help / Internet access to RootsChat cut

For a while now I have been losing access to RootsChat quite regularly around 02:00 - 02:45 am, it simply stops, I then get a 'time out' when I try to access it and sites like 'isitup ' tell me that the website is down.  None of my other internet services are affected, just access to RootsChat. 

I don't imagine that the RootsChat website is actually down, otherwise more folk would have noticed it and raised it as an issue by now.  The problem seems to resolve itself on every occasion after a short while.  But I'm just curious, can anyone offer up a suggestion as to what is happening?  Could it be something like a proxy server that I'm routed through somewhere in the WWW regularly going offline for updating / maintenance?

Ireland / Seán/Sean and Séamus/Seamus

Might seem a silly question, but in case someone already knows the answer and can avoid nugatory effort on my part...

The forename Seán/Sean appeared only 150 times in the 1911 Ireland census, almost exclusively with Irish surnames.  And searching for the same forename brings back no 'hits' in the 1901 Ireland census. And yes, there were a few 'Shauns' and 'Shawns', but the number isn't material.

Likewise the forename Séamus/Seamus appeared only 330 times in the 1911 Ireland census, with a mere 7 'hits' in 1901.

I'm surprised how few occurrences there were in 1911 and baffled by the 1901 results. Am I doing something wrong in my search?  If not, my next question is...  Why? 

I could find no ready answer on the internet. I could start tracking back the 1911 folk to 1901 to see what they're called, but as I said, I'm hoping someone already has an answer...

Ireland Resources / Link:Milltown Cemetery Records Available To Ulster Historical Foundation Members

A database of records from the burial register of Milltown Cemetery in Belfast from 1869 to 1895,  containing over 27,000 names, has been added to the membership section of the Ulster Historical Foundation website:

Milltown Cemetery opened in 1869 on the Falls Road in Belfast and is the main Catholic cemetery in Belfast.  The database contains the name, age and address of the deceased as well as the date of burial.
 
Also available to members is a database of over 1,600 names and addresses of those who purchased burial plots in Milltown Cemetery from 1924 and 1931.

Technical Help / Is it just me affected..?

Saturday 28 June, 10:09 in the morning, in Ireland.

Is it just me or is anyone else having problems accessing sites like FamilySearch and Ancestry, I use Chrome and I'm getting the "Oops! Google Chrome could not find..." message. Even the Ireland Census won't play ball for me at the moment.  :(
