Wiltshire / Chivers/Cheevers help please Wiltshire
« on: Saturday 10 August 19 14:25 BST (UK)  »
I'm doing a distant family members family tree. What I have is:
Richard Ffiliks  b:abt 1617 Rowde,Wiltshire, d: 1669 Rowde,Wiltshire mar. 27 Jun 1642 Rowde,W/Shire. to Anne Paynter b: 1577 d:5 Jun 1629 W/shire .
Richards father is also Richard Ffilks b:abt 1570 & his mother Ann Chivers b:1577 d:5 Jun 1629 (mar. 1594 Rowde,W/Shire)
This is where I need help.
I have Ann's father as being Roger Chivers b:1547 Caine,W/Shire d:May 1602 Caine W/Shire. & Ann's mother as being Elizabeth Elkington (no details).
On reading a who's who on the Cheevers family, I have a Thomas Cheevers who's father is Sir Christopher Cheevers.
I look at Family Search on Ann and it says her father is Thomas Roger Cheevers(Chivers) and her mother Joanna Dobson (1561-1584).
Would appreciate any help to clarify this

Stirlingshire / William ANDERSON marriages
« on: Wednesday 26 September 18 12:29 BST (UK)  »
Just found out in Scotlandpeople that my grandfather William Alexander ANDERSON born Jun 1883 Denny and died Oct 1965 did marry 2 other women. I thought they were house keepers (defacto today). 1st was my g/mother Mary Bell MYLES born Aug 1882 and died Aug 1936 at Denny. I have all her information but the 2nd wife was Bessie Gray BELL who he married in 1941 at Bonnybridge and Bessie died aged 53 in 1946 at Bonnybridge (maybe registered there). I know nothing abt her.
The 3rd wife is Anne Robertson McFARLANE who he married in 1949 in Kilsyth. I knew her as a child as Aunty Anne). She passed away aged 74yrs in 1962 at Falkirk. I was wondering if anyone has access to maybe the Falkirk Herald for a possible marriage and death write up on any of these ladies. We live in Australia so it is difficult to go into any offices.
Many thanks for any help.

Australia / GALL family Berry NSW
« on: Thursday 26 December 13 06:36 GMT (UK)  »
Trying to track down any information on a property at Berry NSW we know to be purchased (or granted) from part of the David Berry Estate. The property today is called "The Oaks" and has been in the GALL family since David Berry had it. It was in our daughter-in-laws family (GALL) up till recently. Any help on where to find land grants/purchases or even any old photo's would be great. Also any knowledge of the property.

Australia / BURLING Henry "Life" mag
« on: Monday 23 December 13 03:09 GMT (UK)  »
Wondering if anyone can make sense of the below information.
I am presuming but not certain that the "Life" may be a magazine or similar. If it is , does anyone know where I may view the article?

Illawarra Mercury Tuesday 29 August 1911 page 2
NOT SURE WHO THIS IS:
110 Years Old.
In 'Life' for August there is a photo of a hale, old gentleman who is only 110 years old. His name is Mr. Henry Burling and he is related to Mr. Burling of Mt. Kembla Public School and other relatives also reside in the district. Notwithstanding his advanced years, the old gentleman is strong in mind and limb and his mental faculties are still quite clear.
