I can find out if they were true....I don't need names, I'm just interested to know if certain things are true..nothing mind blowing but. just interesting or amusing....not. going back very far.....the early. 1980s.

One Name Studies: A to G / Ashers in notts and leics etc
« on: Wednesday 28 June 23 19:47 BST (UK)  »
I've got. Ashers in my family tree who were jews brought over from Germany...probably. modern day Poland... to work in the nottm. lace trade....first official sighting in 1820.

they seem to have been connected with other Ashers in the notts or leics. areas who worked in different trades and who had. been in the area for some time...ive traced another Asher family in notts back to. 1750 and. could have gone back further...and. I know they were friends. of my Ashers...but no idea. if they were jewish and whether they simply. met. by chance.

I'm just. trying to see if there are any. connections we. can build up between these families...there were an awful lot of them in notts and leics...as there still are. today and whether the napoleonic wars played any. role
