Armed Forces / Trying to find Military Medical Records from 1947
« on: Monday 06 November 23 20:06 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to locate the whereabouts (if they still exist) of hospital records relating to Alfred George Mason of the Royal Army Service Corps. He enlisted in Oct 1945.
In June 1947, Alfred was serving in Austria where he had an accident, resulting in damage to his spine. He underwent extensive medical treatment before being medically discharged in 1950.
I have basic service records, but nothing relating to any medical treatment. Would anyone know if military medical records for this period would still be in existence and, if so, where they may be held. I have no idea if the hospital in Austria would have been a Military Hospital or a civilian one.
A long shot, I know, but I thought I'd ask.
Thanks,
Thudders
