Cheshire Completed Lookup Requests / 1841 Look Up Please - Only if this is possible!

I've received a marriage cert this morning from 1843 but the place of abode is just given as Bredbury, Stockport (the marriage was at Manchester Cathedral)

I'm looking for John Kirkham, he's a Farmer and will be aged approx 27 in 1841.  He was a Batchelor when he married so may be alone or with his parents.  According to the marriage cert, father is John Kirkham, also a Farmer.

One of the marriage witnesses was Richard Kirkham who may possibly be a sibling still at home in 1841 too

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Bit of a long shot but would appreciate an address check on Chancery Lane, Ardwick, please

Looking for a family called DAVENPORT, father John is a Sawyer.  In 1841 he should have one daughter Martha aged approx 13, possibly another daughter Harriet, age unknown.  Not sure about 1851

Details from an 1849 marriage cert so worth a try!

Thanks

Cheshire Completed Lookup Requests / Cheshire Census Help Please 41/51
« on: Saturday 22 October 05 11:15 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to trace my 5xgrandparents, William and Ellen TURNER.

My 4xgrandfather Solomon Turner married at Manchester Cathedral in 1844 and William's occupation is stated as a PUDDLER.

Solomon was baptised in Wilmslow in 1817 along with 2 brothers James (1815) and William (1819)

I can't find Solomon on the 1841 census for Lancashire so he may still have been at home with his parents.

On the 1861 census, I've located the following family:

William Turner 77 b. Staffordshire, Yorkshire, England Head
Ellen Turner 74 b.  Bollin Fee, Cheshire, England Wife
James Turner 46  Bollin Fee, Cheshire, England Son

The family are living at Edge View, Pownell Fee, Cheshire

The names and the ages are consistent with this being my family but William's occupation says SADDLER.

I'd be very grateful if anyone with the census could check this address in previous census to see whether there's any sign of any members of the above family or anyone with names that would fit!

Thanks

Lou

Essex Completed Lookup Requests / Baptism look ups please - Kirby le Soken/Wix
« on: Thursday 13 October 05 01:13 BST (UK)  »
I hope this isn't too much trouble for anyone, I have been told there is only one church in each place.

I'm trying to locate the baptisms of:

Mary KEEBLE   1793-1795, birthplace Kirby le Soken.

Edward MARTIN 1790-1792 birthplace Wix

They married in Thorpe in 1815 but the witnesses to the marriage give me no clues as to any parents/siblings for either of them.

Edward was a Mariner as were 5 of his sons so he could possibly be from a Mariner family.  On the birth cert of their youngest child, 'Edward' is named as Reuben!

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Lou

Looking for William and Ann Maynard, possibly living either Union Street or Shawcross Street, Stockport.  They seem to bounce between the 2 over several years.

Thanks

I've found a baptism on IGI for HARRIET KIRKHAM St Andrews, Ancoats, 20 Sep 1863.

I hope this is my missing 3xgrandmother but there is no corresponding birth registration for her.  I have checked 1861 to 1864 and the only 2 Harriet Kirkham's do not have the correct parents.

I would be very grateful if someone could check the entry to see whether it gives an occupation for her father John (mother is Martha).  I think this is the only way I'm going to be able to establish whether it is the correct lady.

Many thanks

Lou

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / 1851 Look Up Please - Need Clarification!
« on: Wednesday 21 September 05 21:15 BST (UK)  »
A while ago, someone kindly did a look up on the 1851 census for me and gave me the following:

HO107-2142 f.423 pg 39 Schedule 141
Full Street, Derby

James Hawkridge HEAD 45 Blacksmith b. Derby
Ann Hawkridge WIFE 45 b. Shirland
Thomas Hawkridge SON 13 Errand Boy b. Derby
James Hawkridge SON 11 Errand Boy b. Beeston, Notts
Samuel Hawkridge SON 7 Scholar b. Beeston, Notts

Is it possible for someone to check that the names of the children are correct as I have a death certificate for son Thomas dated 1843 and I'm now rather confused!

Thanks

Lou
