Cornwall / Great News - Cornwall Online Parish Clerks

Today the COPC Project has hit 4 million records. It is a tremendous achievement by an ever changing group of people keen to help to record the history of Cornish families.

Transcribers come from all over the world and are usually people who have made use of the database. The site is a fabulous resource where people can look up info for themselves or contact an OPC to help with brick walls.

We are immensely proud of what has been achieved since the Project started and hope to go on from strength to strength.

Can you help?
The Cornwall OPC Project aims to give access to free data on various aspects of Family History in Cornwall. With the help of volunteer transcribers, the volume of info we can provide is ever-growing.

Now it could be your turn to help. Do you have a basic knowledge of how to use a spreadsheet or word processor? Then you could be just who were are looking for!
 

We currently have three ongoing transcribing projects:

Parish and Non-Conformist Registers (spreadsheets)
Newspapers (extracting BMD information and/or transcribing assizes reports) (spreadsheets and word processing)
Wills (word processing)
It doesn't matter where in the world you are located as the images to work from will be available online.

When you next visit the OPC database please take the time to read the new notice on the bottom left.

Although all the info and data on both the database and Parish pages is free , and will always be so, the Group has to pay to keep it all online via web-hosting costs. At the moment the OPCs pay most of the costs themselves, so it has been decided to invite donations to enable this excellent resource to continue into the future. If you feel able to support this work then please follow the instructions given on the above-mentioned page.
