World War Two / Queen's Bays - Mareth Line 1943
« on: Monday 15 November 21 15:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I've just had my play staged "The Every Brothers - Their Story". Based on letters home, pay books and official letters etc.
Tom, Jack & Bill Every were all killed in WW2. Trooper Jack Every MM of the Queen's Bays died of wounds on 29/3/1943.
Would you have any information on him please? Am happy to forward what we have. Ron

« on: Saturday 10 December 16 19:02 GMT (UK)  »
Frustrating but I can't read this form, and it's the first one of its kind I have come across. Lewis John Piper was in Minden Camp, but where was he captured?

World War Two / COMPLETED - Name of US Army Corps - Burma, 1945
« on: Sunday 04 December 16 18:56 GMT (UK)  »
Hi folks, in all the years we have had this photo, I've only just noticed the badge/emblem on the top right of the board this Japanese POW is holding.
I can see it says US Army and Corps, but not the other word. Can anyone tell me what it is please?
Dad was in the Intelligence Corps in Rangoon and this photo was in with his service records, letters home and some Int. Corps letters etc.
I did manage to find out the chap was imprisoned for a while before being repatriated.

Armed Forces / COMPLETED - Court Martial at Colchester in 1890
« on: Sunday 20 November 16 19:36 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I've found a record of a relative who was court-martialled on 20/6/1890 at Colchester. He was in the Royal Irish regiment.
All the record states is his name, battalion, regiment and place. Any idea if details of the outcome are available anywhere?

I have Googled to no avail.
Many thanks.

Cavan / COMPLETED - EVASKED in Cootehill in 1922
« on: Sunday 20 November 16 13:45 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I have a distant relative, Paul Evasked, who was in Cootehill (barracks?) in 1922, listed as a Private - Orderly. It lists his next of kin as his mother, Mary, living in Dundalk and he was Roman Catholic.
I know absolutely zilch about Ireland and its military history and any information that would pad this out, or hints as to where to look, would be gratefully received.
Many thanks.

World War Two / COMPLETED - Lt Joy MC, 1947 - Any Chance of Identifying this Chap?
« on: Wednesday 09 November 16 14:41 GMT (UK)  »
I found a photo of a Lt Joy MC in my father's possessions. We have no further detail other than my father was drafted into the OBLI and by 1947 had been transferred to the Intelligence Corps, and was serving in India and Burma.
Is there any hope of identifying this young man from that sparcity of detail?

Northamptonshire / ROADE Cemetery Records
« on: Sunday 16 October 16 20:24 BST (UK)  »
Hi All,

I have a copy of the cemetery records for Roade (not the church or chapels) and would be happy to do searches anytime.

I can also photograph any existing headstones and places in Roade.

Ron
