Armagh / The Parish of Grange Co Armagh, Blackwatertown and Allistragh
« on: Wednesday 04 January 12 13:19 GMT (UK)  »
I have been following the tracks of my ancestors and have been lead now to Co. Armagh and particularly to The Parish of Grange Co Armagh, Blackwatertown and Allistragh.

Gilbert Veighey seems to be the oldest relative I have discovered probably born around 1812 (give or take) and he had it seems at least two sons Gilbert and James (born 1835) and a daughter (Eliza Born 1826), James married an Eliza Greer born 1839. Her father was Andrew Greer who was a farmer on James and Eliza marriage cert. Eliza had a sister call Mary or Maria who married a William Killen there first daughter Matilda born 1866 was born in Blackwatertown.

James Veighey and Eliza moved to Belfast around the late 1870's.It seems that the Killens continues to live in the Grange Armagh area.

I am looking for anyone who might have a connection to any of these names or to the The Parish of Grange Co Armagh, Blackwatertown or Allistragh.

Thanks

Antrim / Matilda Reid ....Sandy Row, Matilda Street, Belfast
« on: Monday 22 March 10 10:27 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Folks,

In 1873 Matilda Reid lived in 10 Matilda Street and had a son a fine bouncing boy she called John Henry. I am trying to trace John Henry's life story and that of his mother Matilda but I can't find any information on them. There were some Reids who lived in Matilda street in 1880 Alexandra Reid was a smith maybe Matilda's father or husband and in the role of Honour for  Donegal Presbyterian there are three Reids Charles, Robert  and Andrew. Robert was killed in 1918 age 34 therefore born 1884. mother Annie and father David all with the address art 13 Matilda Street. These lads may have been Matilda nephews.

I would like to check a street directory for 1873 plus or minus a year to see where Matilda lived as I only have John Henry's birth record for the address. If anyone can check a street directory I would appreciate it and if any of this information rings any bells give me a call.

Thanks

England / Carswell The irish English connection
« on: Monday 08 March 10 14:28 GMT (UK)  »
I'm trying to trace a birth of Henry Carswell born in England in 1858 to Henry Carswell born 1832 and Eliza Wallace born 1831 (in Ballymena). The parents were married in Belfast in 1853 and move to England returning to Belfast just prior to 1865.

Henry Carswell snr may have returned to England after 1873 without Eliza. Henry Snr was a printer by trade

Any help would be appreciated
