Thank you both. It seems there are no medal cards then.  I was sure we had one for him at one time but could not find it, so perhaps we did not.

AllanUK, Hope it was good wine and a good night!!

World War One / Royal Navy WWI Medal cards

Can anyone tell me where these Royal Naval Medal Cards are now please? They do not seem to be with the National Archives now.

I am looking for the WWI Medal card for K13441 Stoker Petty Officer Philip Wedgwood Temple.

The Medal Roll I have found, but not the medal card. I also have his service record. It would be nice to have the medal card too.

Thanks in advance
Pelican

Hello Everyone

Thanks for your help, but nothing has turned up sadly. Tried Genes Reunited and was in touch with someone, helpful but they were unable to help although they tried. Seems to be no photo on Ancestry either.

Maybe one day...

Best wishes to you all

Hello Lisa

Thank you for your help. Books I had not thought of, doubt it but will see what I can find. I have run across this with a couple of others and that was a real surprise.

It is the distant relatives I am hoping may have one. I am not in touch with anyone now. Would love to get in touch!! Sadly I was the only grandchild to survive into adulthood so there are no descendants of Joseph apart from me and my family.

Newspapers I have tried. Websites I have not, good point.

Last time I tried Ancestry there wasn’t one. My sub has run out so next time I go to the family history society here I will have another look.

What I am really hoping for is a kind distant relative who may have one. Joseph was the son of Henry Richardson and Ann Thacker who were married on 13 Apriil 1846 in St Osbrrg’s  Coventry.  They had 9 children of which Joseph is No 7.

Thanks again, Lisa

As I said one may not have been taken. I do so hope there is a photo out there somewhere,

Perhaps I should have given more details. Very remiss of me. My apologies.

As I said Joseph was born on 23 Jul 1859 in Harnal Lane, Coventry.
He died on 31 Aug 1898 in Stockingford, Nuneaton and was buried in Oaston Road Cemetery, Nuneaton on 2 Sep 1898.

Joseph was the son of Henry Richardson and Anne Thacker. who married on 13 Apr 1846 in the  Roman Catholic Church, Coventry,

Joseph married Sarah Jane Hodiern on 9 Apr 1887 at St Andrew's Church, Leicester.

Thank you.

Joseph Richardson is my paternal grandfather. He was born in Coventry on 23 Jul 1859. He died in Nuneaton on 31 Aug 1898 in Stockingford, Nuneaton, three months before my father was born. Of course my father never knew him.

I have photos of my grandmother and the rest of the family but I do not have one of my grandfather.I was wondering if there is anyone out there in Rootschat land that may just have one please. Of course one may never have been taken.

He does not appear to be on the Welcome Wall. This is probably because he did not put it on there or no one of his family did. Voluntary.

It could also mean he came by plane.

The Welcome Wall is on Fremantle Harbour and lists those who came to WA by ship. http://www.museum.wa.gov.au/welcomewalls/browse-names

Our family put us on the Welcome Wall for our 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Exactly Chiddicks. Money always looks for opportunities and exploits them. It can be good, it can be bad, we will have to watch this one.
