here you can look up old maps and use and use overlay of google earth through drag button to focus.
The position of the three horse shoes on several maps is not definitely clarified but may help.

Hi Llanfi
Cannot disagree with your comments ,information i have was given to me by the  marternal side of family.
My great grand father thomas moved to the area from llyswen in 1901. he was
28 and working on farm in llanfihangel .as i said on 1911 census he is at the three horse shoes with his wife sarah and three young children including my grandfather john who later married lucy havard who was a teacher at the school.
thomas s occupation is shown as road worker with council.
Cannot add much more than this at time .

hi
my ancestors  the pritchards lived at the  three horse shoes llanfihangel nant bran  in 1911. they are shown on the census. i am lead to believe that the pub was the property first on the left as you pass the telephone kiosk (passing kiosk on your left)

my grandfather edgar gittus farmed blaengwy from 1933 to 1963. my father farmed there from 1963 to 2001. my mum now 76 and now living in brecon was born in blaengwy it was also my family home. i have read the roots chat about tyn y wern of which of course i know well. i have spoken to my mum breifly about this and she recalls her father mentioning the one time residents of tyn y wern and this was the munkley family. my grandfather was 90 when he died in 1990.
