Devon / Re: 5 Pasley Street, Devonport.

Hi
Your post made me laugh a little as I live about two minutes walk from 5 Pasley Street!  As I am in the vicinity, is there anything I can do to help?
If you tell me what and where, I can either to the Records Office or the Public Library.

Hi Maddison

I hope you find what you are looking for, it is a difficult site to navigate though (well I thought so).

Hi
My grear great great grandfather (from Bradworthy, North Devon) was a soldier in the 28th Foot Regiment and I obtained his army records fron the National Records office, which you can order online and it wasn't very expensive.  I found that he served at Waterloo and the Peninsular Wars against Neopolean also.

There are only two Moses Cundys on the 1851 census.  One is married to a Mary and the other is unmarried.

Thanks for looking Lynne.  GenUKI have also done transcriptions of all church records, but there is no sign on there either, never mind.  Thanks anyway.

Devon / Northam/Appledore marriage look up (pre registration)
« on: Saturday 14 March 09 14:12 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, can anyone please help with finding the marriage of my great great grandfather Henry Lang to Barbara Williams, probably in Northam/Appledore in the 1820s.  I have been told by someone else that Barbara was a widow.  The date of this marriage would help me in ascertaining who their children were as I have a feeling that some girls found on the 1841 census were possibly not their children but nieces.  Any help much appreciate.  Many thanks.

Hi
Although this doesn't answer your question, I have the Goodenough name in my tree.  The sister of my great great great great grandfather, Dorothy Heal, married John Goodenough born 1817 in Woolfardisworthy.  The Heals were also from Woolfardisworthy.

Hi, I am not planning a trip to Truro in the near future but might be able to check the graveyard for you to see if there is a tombstone.  I am not too far away and when the weather gets a bit warmer, I could do that.  Are you far away yourself?
