Thank you for your generosity in replying to my post. You were correct, I had pretty well eliminated your William Henry Fitzgerald as being the man I'm still trying to find data about. Maybe, one day I will come across information that shows who his parents were and if he actually came from Nottingham.
There were several 100 William Fitzgerald's who entered Australia up to 1848. It is a slow process but I have eliminated about a third of them.
