Library and FHS Lookups / Re: Bristol - Riggs

Can you clarify what you mean by "the inference is"?  Do you have actual documentation that she was resident  in Bristol in 1906?
Hi, I have a newspaper report (Meath Chronicle 27/10/1906) of her cousins wedding. She is mentioned in the list of gifts received, Miss Edith Riggs,Bristol.
I see that there is a death of an Edith Riggs in Bristol, 1965.
Her given age at death is about 2 years out but I think I will order the death certificate to check.

Hi

Thanks for the replies. The wedding was in Ireland, it was her cousin getting married and she is mentioned amongst the list of presents. The inference is that she did not attend the wedding but was resident in Bristol.
She does not appear in the 1911 census.
I had checked the Dorset Riggs, but they are not her.

I'm looking for any information about Edith Riggs, born Mullingar (Ireland) in 1884. She was in Mullingar for the 1901 census and according to a newspaper item (re a family wedding) she was in Bristol, England in 1906. No sign after that, any help appreciated.

Many thanks for your reply

I'm not sure that the E Riggs is the same, but there was no other E Riggs born in Ireland around 1880-1885.
She doesn't appear in the 1911 census and there are no marriage or death records for her in Ireland.
I am just checking the NZ link as the dates and country of birth match :)
Riggs was not a very common name in Ireland

John Shera married Sarah Crawford.....unknown as yet.     Sarah was the daughter of Billy Crawford(of Drumherriff) and Mary(nee. Leard, b 23 Jan 1798)

There are a lot of this side of the family that went to the USA & Canada.

John Shera(c1815) was buried, 22 Oct 1883 in Boyle, and Sarah(c1821), was buried 7 Apr 1888, in Boyle.

My friend has a large amount of this side of the family tree, but very few places and dates......just names.
Hi,
William Crawford (Drumherriff) Father of Sarah was my GGG Grandfather. His wifes name and date of birth is new information for me. The only record I could find of her was a newspaper report of her death(as Mrs. Crawford)
Would it be possible to find out where the information of her name and dob came from? There may be more information that could be shared.
Many thanks
Randal.

Steve. :)

Thanks for your message.

As far as I know the school I'm looking for closed in the late 1800's and the building was used as a Chapel of ease after that. Maybe there was another school in the area after that.
Do you know where in Lisdrumarea he went to school?
