Thanks to bishenbertie, kesannah,jim and prue for your prompt replies. I originally had assumed a date of 1900-10 but was later told it might be late 1890s. I was given the photo by a great aunt who believed the "stout" lady to be her maternal grandmother ANN GOULDING (nee LINTIN) born around 1852 and so 1900-1910 would put her in her 50s which I think matches with the picture,and so I'm inclined to go with my original thought.
I believe the photo which is mounted on grey card to have been taken in Sheffield or pssibly rural Lincolnshire. I often ponder on who they all were ,what they did and their relationship to each other-fascinating!

Hi ,
can anyone help date this photo please and also what event might it be . My own guess is that its a christening but the button holes might suggest a wedding? I believe the lady holding the baby is related to the lady on her right and also to the "stout" lady behind. I was given a tentative ID for this lady and a date would help prove this or not. No restoration is required thankyou.
