Devon / TREEBY of Stoke Damerel/Devonport
« on: Saturday 24 November 07 17:15 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I am looking for information on the Treeby family of Devonport/Stoke Damerel.
In particular the following from the 1841 census.

Matilda Trieby    age 30    Ind.     born in county
Mary       "         age 10                 "     "     "
Richard    "         age 9                   "     "     "
Henry      "         age 4                   "     "     "
T/Iryphena  "    age 2                   "     "     "

Address : South side of Princes Street

Matilda's husband was believed to be William Giles Treeby.
I can find no trace of William on the 1841 census so he was either absent or had died.
I can find no trace of Matiida on the 1851 census so had either remarried, died or was absent.
Although I cannot find any deaths/remarriages for either William or Matilda.

Their daughter Mary went on to marry Henry Evans in 1858.
I don't know what happened to her siblings.

I would be grateful for any help/ideas in tracing the family.
many thanks

Cumberland / Joseph Routledge death at the Sportsman's Inn
« on: Wednesday 03 October 07 20:24 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I have an ancestor Joseph Routledge who died on 14 July 1864 at the Sportsman Inn in Brampton.  He was aged 72 and was a stonemason. He died of heart disease. The informant was Alexander Routledge living at Crow Hall, Brampton.
I was wondering if anyone has access to local newspapers or other to see if there was any report/notices on his death.
On the 1861 census Joseph was living on Front Street With his wife Sarah and 2 grandsons.
I am also interested in any books/pictures on Brampton that maybe available.
Many thanks for any help

Cumberland / Latimer and Routledge of Brampton
« on: Wednesday 30 March 05 12:23 BST (UK)  »
Hi
am researching the names Latimer and Routledge both from Brampton.
I have got as far back as David Latimer born c.1796 in Brampton. He married a Mary born c.1797 in Brampton.
On the Routledge names I have got as far as Joseph Routledge born c.1793 in Brampton and he married Sarah born c.1792/6 in Brampton.
Joseph Routledge and family lived on Front Street from 1841-61 and he was a stone mason and was noted as a publican as well on the 1851 census.
David Latimer and family lived on Back Street from 1841-61 and he was an ag. lab.
I would be grateful if anyone can help locate marriages/births/parents/brothers/sisters or any other info on these families.
many thanks
Lucy
