Hi again, I am stuck on Richard and Frances. Have not been able to find a marriage for them. Have you had any luck getting further back?

I have not been on genes for a long time.

My father Robert recently died another Geden gone...

Also Sarah Anne, Ursula's sister is a stumbling block, for my other contact too.

Hello Tony,

Thanks for the reply. Yes I had eventually found the marriage, took ages!

I had the death and thought there were three daughter's although no hard dates on that.

Where does your wife fit into the tree, Ursula was my gt.grandfathers sister. Are we related  :)

I was also sent a picture which may be her with her three daughters, no confirmation on that. I am in contact with a direct relation to the other sister, Sarah.

Hope to hear back soon

Diane

Armed Forces / "Firkin" barrel
« on: Thursday 06 December 07 09:46 GMT (UK)  »
Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but here goes.

A friend bought this item off eBay.

It was described as a Naval Firkin.

It's only around 6 inches across and 4 inches high. The stopper has an anchor on it.

Could anyone help us to identify the inscription please.

Many thanks

I thought this was the best programme of the series.

I had seen a programme previously about gateway ancestors, this explained it all so well.

Welcome aboard Matt, you will be hooked for life now.

I have hardly touched on my Suffolk lines.

I was just trying to tie up people with death certs. So I was lucky.

Both Mary Ann and her husband Robert died in the same year and quarter aged 81.

You would have thought from old age! Her from the shock of the fall and him from Cancer.

So my Footers and Everetts, will be looked at more closely soon

Hi

I got it from Thetford Library and it was in the Thetford and Watton Times.

From memory the previous place I tried did search that one for me but there wasn't anything in it.

The librarian there, a Jean Archdeacon, was very helpful. All by email!

The copy was £2 and arrived within a week, even over Easter.

Diane :)
