It's so confusing to have so may different dobs for James.
On his marriage certificate dated 21 Sept 1862 James is aged 22 yrs.
His father was James (deceased).

The census records have all different dates.

Thanks for that.

I have James & Lavinia Turner on 1861 census living in St. Andrew Plymouth with Lavinia's sister Elizabeth A Kellow.  James is an excavator.

They both have surname Turner, but didn't actually get married until 1862.  My great great grandfather Robert was born 1864 and I think James died  round about this time but I haven't found a death reg. yet.

Wow, that was quick.

Yes, I found the 1841 and 1851 census with James and family.  I thought this could be the family but now I have a copy of son James' marriage certificate, I'm not sure.  The dob comes from the census.

Thanks for your quick reply

Hi,

I'm new to this forum, and am looking for information on James Turner (born abt 1789) and family from South Molton.
My gggrandfather was James Turner born abt 1831 South Molton, who married Lavinia Kellow in Plymouth in 1862.  Their son James was in 1864 in Plymouth.
On the marriage certificate of James & Lavinia, James' father is deceased (his occupation was hairdresser).
